Lots of politics in any side I guess. Think for SA was to drop Johan Botha (but that's just my opinion and not too sure what actually happened there)

He was dropped because once he lost the ****ra he wasn't anywhere nearly as effective.

An average of 40.50 with the ball and a batting average of 19 is hardly special.

He lost his place to Tahir. Tahir odi bowling stats average of 19.94 and batting average of 10.

Simply put Tahir is the better player.

Botha may a good captain but you pick your best 11 first and he wasn't in the best 11.
 
Guptill is going to make a huge score. Doesn't look like the WI bowlers have anything for him.
