Ever since the likes of India, Oz and England had the agreement to play each other yearly at the expense of others, the other teams including SA get an inflated view of their abilities by having to play teams like the WImore often and doing well and breaking records. Then when we eventually play a team like India or Oz we call our players chokers when the batsman don't perform.
