No why they seed it is because its similar to tennis, they do not want federer and nadal meeting the q or s finals they to make sure if both get through they end up in the final playing each other.
Pro 20 though is not cut and dry and you don't have 2 dominant teams as such.

Uhm.. i think Smith and Kallis thus far have done an excellent job only change i'd like to see is perhaps get deVilliers in before Gibbs if it is after 6ov. Gibbs seems to have lots of off days but this still allows him to -try- plus gives deVilliers more to play with. And of cause from about 12th ov morkel and other hitters should be given preference ahead of duminy because you don't want to leave it till the last over.

Yeah, I understand why they use it: it's because the ICC is run by morons who love to break previously unbroken things. 
Any of us could design a better seeding system in 2 mins.

So people can be 95% sure they will see SA and WI play if they buy a ticket for the 12th of June for example....
And it also allows for easier org.
I don't like it however, it takes some of the magic away from the game
Nice find, and I agree with Gibbs after AB if its after 6 overs. And morkel before duminey if its after 12-14 overs.

Looks like they will need to worry about spin more in the next stage. with the likes of SL, Pak & Nz (2 of these will likely go thru, seems like low score games in that group)

Gibbs should stay at 3 (think 438 
) and AB should be at 4 before Duminy. Albie needs to come in before Boucher, I would think that he'd need at least 5 overs to make a big enough difference.
I'd also try Yusuf Abdullah in place of Parnell, not due to Parnell's performance but because Abdullah is more of a T20 specialist. They're both left arm seamers so the variation will still be there. Plus I'm biased because we were in the same class in primary school

I would still bat ab at 3 he is the "inform" player atm.
Gibbs 4 unless a wicket falls in the first 5 overs, then he can bat at 3

I think Parnell did pretty well yesterday - it would be wrong to drop him after that performance. Even if Abdullah was in your primary school class.

They should keep it as it is, a team has a certain balance, there is no need for us to disturb it, let roelof come in after Albie

Off course, there's no need to mess with the line-up while they're winning. Parnel can bat and field as well, Yusuf is useless at those two disciplines. The side should stay the same.
I was happy with how parnell and steyn bowled at the end. Only concede the odd lucky inside edge 4, they managed to hit the block hole on a consistent basis. Haven't seen that from us for a long time.

Yes, that's the 5% uncertainty he allowed.
To be fair, Aus not qualifying was a major surprise. Our other matches in the super 8s were entirely predictable.
That's the only advantage of this system.
