I need to drink less during the game. Yes, we're playing against the Scotts. For some reason I thought this was a 3 match series.

Against Scotland?

Nah... They struggled to beat a very poor Argentina. Having said that, the way the Boks played today it will be a tight game even against Kathu 2nd XV

Corrected.

Well if you play your World Cup 07 squad Wales should be able to give you a run for your money... Meyer needs to catch a wake up and fast

You know of course he will use this victory to vindicate his choice of picking the old-age home residents in his team. He will say it is their experience that pulled it through for the Boks.

Not the speed and flair of Willie le Roux who hit a gap while all his old farts were bashing it up without any reward.

Australia and New Zealand must be licking their lips for the Rugby Champs later this year.

So we all heard that some of the French based Boks might not be available for the last test against Scotland because it falls outside the IRB Test Window.

So I heard a very reliable little birdie chirp that Handre Pollard might leapfrog Marnitz Boshoff and be given a run if he comes out uninjured after the IRB Junior World Cup.

Either way I think he will be called up to the squad if Steyn is recalled to France.

Confirmed.

Pollard called up to Boks as all French based Bok players return to club duty.

Junior Springbok captain Handré Pollard, who was named IRB Junior Player of the Year on Friday, and experienced Test hooker Adriaan Strauss will join the Springboks in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.
Pollard superbly led the South African Under-20s at the Junior World Championships in New Zealand. The Junior Boks twice beat the NZ U20s en route to the final, where they were edged 21-20 by England in Auckland on Friday.

Strauss has been a fixture in the Springbok squad since 2012 and missed out on the last three matches because of suspension. He is free to play again next weekend.

Seven players based in France and England have been released to their clubs and will not be considered for selection for next weekend’s final Test in the Castle Lager Incoming Series, against Scotland at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

They are Gurthrö Steenkamp (prop), Schalk Brits (hooker), Bakkies Botha (lock), Francois Louw (flank), Morné Steyn (flyhalf), Wynand Olivier (centre) and Bryan Habana (wing).

“I’ve always rated Handré very highly and with Morné returning to France and Johan Goosen struggling with a knee injury, we decided to bring him in,” said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer.

“Adriaan has been with us since June 2012 and has played in every Test in the last two seasons. He knows our structures well and will slot back in with no hassle.

“We will still travel to Port Elizabeth with a strong squad and will only consider calling up more replacements if necessitated by injury. The players in the squad who have not yet featured in one of our three matches this month have worked very hard.

“I’m a believer in earning opportunities and I feel that some of them deserve a chance to play for the Springboks against Scotland as they’ve now become accustomed to how we play and won’t let their country down.”

Jurie Roux, CEO of the South African Rugby Union (SARU), explained that the Test against Scotland falls outside of the international window prescribed by the IRB.

“We have reached agreement with the South African provinces and certain clubs that their players may be made available for the match,” said Roux.

“The French and English clubs have exercised their right to withdraw their players from the Test and we respect and understand that.

“All the matches during the Castle Lager Rugby Championship fall within the IRB window and players based in Europe and South Africa will be available for selection.

“Because of the special nature of the Japanese season and the way in which it is structured, we have worked with these clubs to have players available for Springbok duty on an individual basis. That means Schalk Burger, Fourie du Preez and JP Pietersen will be available for certain matches, as agreed with their clubs.

“All Rugby World Cup matches next year fall within an international window and therefore all South African qualified players based anywhere will be available for selection.”

That^^^ is exactly what pisses me off... The higher ups aren't realising what a disaster this bok squad is because they've been winning, seemingly forgetting that it's against a World XV who played together for 5min and Wales(I mean ffs it's Wales!!!).

The SS commentators last week praising how awesome the boks were made me nauseous, 11 turnovers last week, 11!!! SA don't need to beat Wales we need to beat NZ, try doing that with 11 turnovers and god knows how many missed tackles today...

Also, I'm surprised Hendriks (Who was my choice for MoM.) Hasn't gotten a mention.

Guy is a strong exiting player who also seems to get involved in most of our backline tries and doesn't get half the accolades Oom Willie does.

Shameful 'win' ...... needed 2 yellow cards and 2 penalty tries to beat the Welsh. I'd rather have the loss because that would at least force head-poephol to look at our game. Now it will be all good because we 'won'.

And now I'll take leave of the thread before all the HM disciples come in and attempt to wool everybody's eyes and berate anyone who does not bow down.

I wonder whether he is drinking his own kool-aid or if he's just trying to blow smoke up everyone's arses to save face.

This.

In that first test against Wales I actually mentioned to a mate that it feels like I'm back in 2007 again. HM just needs John Smit to fully complete the old boys club.

You know of course he will use this victory to vindicate his choice of picking the old-age home residents in his team. He will say it is their experience that pulled it through for the Boks.

Agreed.

Le Roux is just about the only oke in the squad who is showing some creativity and flair. Not only did he help save our arse on Saturday but he's the reason why we won so convincingly in the first test so I'm very concerned that if he gets injured, any attacking platform we do have right now will be gone with him.

As others have said, with the current Bok setup (and game plan) I reckon the AB's (and perhaps OZ too) are going to have us for breakfast.

I am extremely disappointed with the Boks' showing on Saturday. No one imo should get a higher than 5/10 rating. Yes even Willie as he made more than one mistake.

I must also give Wales credit as they came out swinging and could feel a bit unlucky not to have held on.

When all the injured players are available again I would like to see who HM then has in his starting 15.
