True but Lambie would make better decisions.
Another distant thought was JP Peterson at the back....with your suggestion of Willie on wing
Lambie is not available next week, and Lambie and Pollard is not exactly the best at tackling at the back. Willie should be experimented with back on the wing. Brummer will probably be promoted to the bench... I do not know what the A team is going to do... April was spooked.
I disagree, de Klerk took longer than usual, pick up the ball, run 2-3 steps horizontally, pass with an attacker already on the receiver. How many times did the Irish captain came straight through a ruck with de Klerk pondering his options? The Irish scrummie was three times better with controlling the play than de Klerk. Lambie barely had game time, the Irish was all over Elton, and Elton in my books was as spooked as April.
Ruan Pienaar as emergency call up as flyhalf backup? Morne Steyn? Johan Goosen? Or will he look local. The two who played for the A side didn't cover themselves in glory.
I think Taute could be an option, but his not match fit and needs game time atm. AC could employ Kolbe as a utility back which can cover positions like fullback, wing and scrum half position. We also lack pace at the back and can be used when needed. We definitely lacked that on Saturday. I hope AC see past the HM too small players as we clearly lack pace at the back. Petersen had a clear run in to the line, but he had no pace and were easily knocked out as we could have won the game.
Lambie is a good option at the back, but he like Petersen are dog slow I'm afraid.
Flame me, but Kolbe is just too small for Test rugby anywhere other than scrummie.
Your statement makes no sense. There is no such thing as too small. I could say Petersen is too slow for Test rugby as he needs to be in space to actually do something. Small players with big hearts out performs players like Spies or guys that's big. Your statement is just a myth.
Are you now going to say Jantjies is too small too for Test rugby

And no, I wouldn't call Janjties too small. Most flyhalfs are in the 80-90kg range. I do consider him a terrible defender though, but not because he is 'small'.
I wouldn't call Jantjies terrible by no measure... he's no Lambie, but god, have you seen Pollard?![]()
Some players just don't really make the mustard when they reach the top level - regardless of their quality in lower level competitions. Jantjies strikes me as one of those. He simply struggled to handle the pressure on Saturday. Compare him to Paddy Jackson, for example, who's also a young'un. Jackson just looked so much more composed, even though on a player vs player level I'm sure Jantjies is actually better.

If the packs dominate the flyhalf looks good 90% of the time. As the old cliche goes, the game is won up front. The fact that the Boks didn't dominate up front, as this is suppose to be our strong point, we should've run away with the game.
The fact that people is trying to find scapegoats in the players are low blows. The fact is the whole team played below par. If the Boks forward had a dominant game and bet you that Jantjies would've gotten heaps of praise.
Not a attack on you, but in general what I've been reading, but anyways.
One last remark, how did Jantjies go when he was at the Stomers? AC's game plan doesn't suit Jantjies and more so the other Lions players. I suspect they will get more flack if we lose or just barely win at the Park.
Game plan? They must first get one. They were playing a combination of Lions running game vs stamp-kar rugby... actually they were just schit and unorginazed.
Ellis Park is a likely win, higher altitude, schit pitch, the SA rugby strong hold. I also guess that the Irish will play an even lesser team (to give everyone game time and experience), then to throw everything back at us to conclude with the series on a high note.

Elton had two big issues while contracted with the Stormers,
1) He could not tackle, and
2) he could not kick.
