Yet he is playing his best rugby of his life at the Lions? Why, because there is no stampkar rugby involved.

/Flamesuit on

Lions rugby, ie management is light years ahead of the Bok ones.

Everybody knows each ones weak point and the help each other out where that one is failing. That is why the Lions is a success, because each one plays for each other.

True, that's why a mediocre team on paper can smash top sides on the field. It is a team sport after all...

And then you get teams like the All Blacks, that play as a team and have super stars as well.... <- maak my moedeloos for when we have to face them.

from what i remember, every single lions player that ever left for the stormers, ended up schit or no-names.

if you want to render a player useless, send him to the stormers

Du Toit played better than any Lion player on the pitch Saturday

Just because the intercept try came of he is the wunderkid now? He has been having an excellent year and should've started before Lood. Lood infact shouldn't even be in the A side.

Anyways, just some quick stats

Warren v Duan

Warren
Played 25 min
Tackles made 7
Tackles missed 0
Defenders beaten 1
Carries 7

Duane
Played 80 min
Tackles made 8
Tackles missed 2
Defenders beaten 0
Carries 13

But anyways, I'm not going to fight over who is better at what. The fact is AC is panicking and will revert back to stampkar rugby. Lions players are now used to playing smarter rugby than the norm, so the is fact is I don't think there is a need to select Lions players to play stampkar rugby.

Rather stick to the bash up players, ie Bulls, Stomers, Sharks, etc.

ah ok, sorry my fault, meant a Lions player going to the Stormers... @specificity :D

The Stormers are good at supplying one commodity, and that is locks. I’m still supporting Snyman to replace Lood… and I’m not a Blue Bulls supporter by any means, Snyman has great potential.

Ignoring that du Toit had his ups and down due to injuries, he has been a phenomenal player at the Sharks and an enormous contribution to the Stormers. The guy has a future, and probably the brightest player amongst the South African tight fives.

And no, he did more than score an intercept try.

Then we have Eben which is consistently good even though he was silent on Saturday, he will come back to deliver.

players besides Elton that comes to mind is Taute and scrummie, what's his face. O, and that flank, whatsamacallhim. :p

To mention that average players under Ackermann are playing better rugby in unity. Did you see how much Groom upped his game for the A team? I'm sure that Ackermann had drilled quick ball recycling into him, something which he lacks playing with the Stormers.

Morne Steyn has been called up to the Springbok squad. April will be staying with the A team.

Snyman or Mostert both player clean rucks well, Loot and Etzebeth was standing in the 1st receiver slot to do a crash ball :wtf:
The tight Five was non existing at ruck time.

Game stats Springboks vs Ireland

56% Possession 44%
57% Territory 43%

141 Carries 93
7 Clean breaks 9
19 Defenders beaten 9
585 Metres run 280
8 Offloads 5
204 Passes 117
1 Turnovers won 9
8 Loose ball collected 15

Now its almost certain what type of rugby we will be playing. Stampkar it is.

If he had called up Goosen it would have been a different kettle of fish. You can tell AC is rattled already with this selection.

Jantjies did have to deal with the unexpected death of his father during his time in Cape Town but I think that was the smaller part of his poor performances there. The Stormers gameplan stifled him
