Well done Namibia, though controversial, scoring the last minute try. 34-32

Allister... Allister... Allister...

“They weren't interested in playing,” he said.

“All they did was make it as difficult as possible for us to exit, just put it in behind us, turn us and we were actually bogged down in our own 22 there. They got a drop goal and a chip try and it was a very clever tactic and I don't think we handled it well but I think we will be better this week.

What you shouldn't be sucked into is the complete Super Rugby vibe, where it's almost like a feel-good scenario where we keep ball in hand and run it from everywhere.

Sometimes it looks on, but it isn't and you get shut down in your own half or you turn your own ball over in your own half.

Test rugby is a little bit different, the players have a full understanding now about what Test rugby is about.

All credit to the Irish, they really scrambled and they worked exceptionally hard when they were one guy short.

But still, we allowed it to look really good.”

"We had opportunities to score and we didn’t take them‚" Coetzee said. "This is a learning curve and we have to learn quickly and not see it as a failure. We lacked composure.

We were a bit naïve tactically. Our plan was to put the ball in behind them but after Pat went off we didn’t do it again. After they were down to 14 men they gave us space out wide and we didn’t also didn’t take advantage."

Uhm… Hello Snorre?

Did any All Blacks play, squad members? They have 8 players in the All Blacks squad. This is going to shock Wales though…

Didn't check the team sheets but from the 3 minutes highlights reel doesn't look like any AB's played. I get test rugby and Super rugby is a different animal but test rugby is catching up for sure...

Fringe teams, but I see that many Welsh players already had their debut. With a limited Welsh squad in New Zealand, their depth is lacking.

The Welsh media is not loving the result, see the article how they rated the Welsh stars...

Afternoon Chaps,

Apologies for my troll posts Saturday evening.

I reckon the Boks will pull things back this weekend, Saturday was an eye opener and lessons learnt for them.

So what do you guys think of Morney's call up>?

Not much, but SARU should decide whether they want to call on players abroad or utilise the local stable. Bringing Steyn into the match day 23 will mean that Coetzee will probably want to play a conservative kicking game, the traditional Jakeball, it will work at Ellis Park. I must say though, seeing White’s team play in Europe it is still pretty much Jakeball.

Ireland is much more dynamic than in the past, Wales is still playing test rugby and England has decided to take the battle to the opposition. The Springboks do not know what they want to do… We need an enterprising game, but we also need an adaptive play, the reason why I love New Zealand rugby.

The question, who will start, Morné or Elton?

I think AC will keep faith with the starting XV from Cape Town (apart from EJ in for PL at flyhalf) and I'm torn between whether this is a good call or not. You can't expect combinations to gel if you keep changing them but on the other hand, there are some players who are woefully out of form and might need to be 'rested'.

I think that there are many better suited players than Steyn to call up. Stade Francais did not have a glorious year, and I cannot see how much Steyn contributed to the French team in the 2015/16 Top 14 competition. I hardly watched any European rugby this year…

Vermeulen and Louw hardly played rugby on Saterday, between the two Louw did the most. In my opinion, du Toit should start in Lood’s place and Whiteley in Vermeulen’s place. I do not think that we have the right prop combos… not in the selected team, Beast did good though. To be honest I think that Lood also did not do enough to support his prop, when the lock is unable to do this then the other lock will over support his prop in the scrum.

It is a hard decision between Combrinck and Willie, somebody should give Willie a big PK (uhm, wakeup call) when they run up onto the pitch. Since it is Ellis Park, and that I believe that the Irish will channel it down a bit, that we should give Combrinck a starting run. Give the guy the experience as he has the potential to be a great Springbok.

Mapoe is still inexperienced on this level, and will need more rotational game time to gain the needed experience so I will opt to play Kriel in the starting line-up. Kriel did good with his little time on the pitch Saterday so a switch at the 50-60th minute.

De Allende is playing catch-up rugby, and I can only hope that he is in the game at Ellis Park.

Lood was terrible. It was such a huge imporvement when Peter-Steph got on the field. Also Elton and Faf was not that bad for me. Mapoe looked out of his league though
