Official June 2016 Tests Thread

Just to take notice, the Stormers scored as many tries as the Lions

We do have a scrum issue... Beast and Nyakane was the only consistent prop scrummagers. Redelinghuys, though miles better than Malherbe didn’t impress…

Du Toit, still the best utility.

No, Naas. Jantjies passing to Combrink is expected, not impressive. He's a flyhalf ffs. He was crap. Nedbank must be sponsoring Jantjies for Naas to pull that sort of comment out of his backside...

Yah well, he probably needs the extra cash at home…

If our starting 15 looks like the 15 on the pitch at the end of this game, we'll be well on the way.
Still say Warren should captain and I'd like Kriel starting or on the bench.

Agree, I am also worried about Jantjies, his kicking buckles under pressure.

De Allende is fine. His job is to draw two defenders to create gaps for the other quicks.

To come back to this, my issue with him is that he can be too predictable, the coaching needs to change his play when changing maneuvers are due. See what the Crusaders are doing with Nadolo, though a huge man, on the winger they play him inside/outside on change with the centres, it helps to keep the opposition guessing when he is going to strike. De Allende could play such a role, currently he is playing one simple game.

100% agreed...

Combrinck, Whitely and Mostert have to start if that so called coach of ours has any clue.

What the guys on this forum said before the first test.

Louw, Vermeluen and Mvovo was K@k an need to be showned the door.

I would stick to du Toit and Etzebeth, then have Redelinghuys get in training with the two. A prop is only as good as his lock. We can always have du Toit replace Louw, but then Kriel…

All that I will say is put the right players (Lions ;) ) in the Bok team and we will win. Coetzee must stop selecting his favourites and select the players that want to play. No use trying to justify selection to say that he want experience players in the side if they are useless. How will any new player get experience if they are not selected.

Start to build a team now over the next few years to be ready for the World Cup. Forget about the players that will not be around for the next World Cup. Yes we will lose games but we will have a team that will be ready to win.

Oh, one more thing, Coach Coetzee: When Whitely trots on next week with Number 8 on his back, make sure he also has (C) after his name on the team list. Adriaan's rugby brain is still in Bloem, and he hasn't had a decent game since he left the Cheetahs. Now's a good time to get Warren at the helm.

I agree, the captain made *** decisions. If you are 6 points down in a test you kick for poles.

What is up with Georgia and Romania, showing the Six Nations that they need to expand?

Romania has beaten Uruguay 40-0, now they are rapidly outplaying the Argentina XV which is the Americas champions.

Not many people know this, but during Romania’s communist days they ranked amongst the top 5 rugby playing nations, post-communism stripped their resources, civil war and all that.

I fear that despite the result, AC will be loathe to make the changes we're all hoping to see, given the important nature of next week's game. He might feel his gameplan worked tonight in that he made the correct calls regarding subs at the right time. Probably only injury will force his hand. So while we yearn for Jaco Kriel to start, it probably won't happen. Assuming Duane is done, the only change we'll see is Whiteley at 8. Combrinck and Mostert will ride pine again and Strauss will keep the captain's armband. Definitely agree that he needs his marching orders though. He's beyond k@k, both as a captain and as a player.
