Beast is spent. Probably the best example of how the player drain has robbed Franchises of their depth, resulting in top players being over played. I feel for him!

I think it would be great to have Steven Kitshoff there. He scrums well and his work rate is good.
The Bok management has confirmed that three players, Scarra Ntubeni (Stormers), Nic Groom (Stormers) and Garth April (Sharks), will return to their franchises on Tuesday afternoon.
Beast, Nyakane are our best prop scrummagers, Redelinghuys being well above Malherbe.

If Strauss is 50/50 to make the team this weekend, why send Scarra back to the Stormers ?
I have heard an rumour that the Stormers are negotiating to have Vermeulen returned to the WPRU, with SARU’s support. Whether it is true, I do not know… I may assume that the ‘keep it local’ policy will come into play by the 2016 year-end rugby union internationals and that Vermeulen will be likely appointed as our long-term captain until the 2019 RWC. The question though, the team will need to be sliced and diced, in terms to stay with a viable quota model to play the best players on merit, where will Whiteley end up should Vermeulen be the captain?
I have no issue with Vermeulen being the captain, but the guy is seriously overplayed and did by no means prove anything in the June series. They need to recondition the guy accordingly… the same with Louw, but I’m sure that Kriel will take his starting position somewhere down the line.
Everyone wants to see Kriel in the match day 23, but then what will happen when Coetzee returns to active duty??? We had players in the u/20 team which may still break through to the seniors and SA A team players which should had been in the Springbok squad. The du Preez twins… and many other players.
Oupa played miles better than Kolisi, RG Snyman needs to receive his chance as a Springbok…
Lood should ask his agent to approach other unions, the Cheetahs is not developing him…
Too much to consider…
Remember though, Marcel is moving overseas next year so is Springbok role could be in jeopardy.
Him and the coach were having some long chats...Will be great to have Whiteley in the starting 15.
Super Rugby deceived us – Bok coach
‘The northern hemisphere are playing closer to Test match rugby compared to when we play Super Rugby.’
Springbok coach Allister Coetzee on Monday suggested that the European Top-14 probably prepared the Northern Hemisphere teams better for Test rugby than is the case of Super Rugby for the Southern Hemisphere sides.
...
What Coetzee is adamant about, though, is that South Africans were lead into a false sense of security with the exuberant rugby a team like the Lions were playing.
“The northern hemisphere are playing closer to Test match rugby (in the European Top-14 and the Heineken Cup) compared to when we play Super Rugby.
“And we talk about ball in the hand approach but at times you have to do it, but that balance is the key word and there’s still place for the kicking game.
“If you look at how Ireland put us under pressure and we dominated territory by a small margin, but they weren’t interested in playing, all they did was to make it as difficult as possible for us to exit to put it behind us and turn us.
“We got pinned down into our own area, then they got a penalty and a drop and a chip try, that was very clever tactics, and we didn’t handle it well.”
Cape Town - The impact of the Lions players off the bench against Ireland on Saturday was impossible to ignore as the Springboks turned their 19-3 half-time deficit into a 32-26 win at Ellis Park.
It is a result that has given the Boks a chance to win the series in Port Elizabeth this weekend.
Coetzee was asked by the Johannesburg media to comment on the performances of players like Ruan Combrinck, Warren Whiteley, Julian Redelinghuys and Franco Mostert.
And while the coach was pleased with what he saw, he was reluctant to make it all about the Lions players and focused instead on the role the bench played as a whole.
"It’s important to know that you have guys on the bench that can make an impact," Coetzee said.
"I’m just pleased that a Ruan Combrinck really took his opportunity well. You don’t get a lot of players who, on debut, score a try and he was outstanding.
"Even Julian Redelinghuys, Franco Mostert when he came on … they played their part and that’s what you want.
"We’re not looking at Lions players; we’re Springboks. Whether we have the green jersey or the white jersey, we’re Springboks. Maybe the people look at it like that, but we’re Springboks."
Warren Whiteley was another Lions player who was immensely impressive off the bench on Saturday.
He is expected to start at No 8 on Saturday in place of the injured Duane Vermeulen, despite being a slight injury concern himself with a knock to the shoulder.
Caught some of whatever the rugby chat show is called on SS last night. Joel and the crew were glowing about Warren and were in equal part brutal about Flow, Duane and Adriaan's performances.
Fun fact... After 160 minutes of two test matches, Adriaan Strauss has made a total of two tackles. That's correct, two. His Ellis Park performance was 200% better than Newlands 'tho as both tackles were made in Johannesburg.
Is it okay if, from here on out, I just go ahead and call Whiteley MY Springbok captain. You guys will get it, right? Sure, commentators and such will talk about AS being captain but for my own sanity, based the absolute lack of any evidence to support those obviously foolish claims, Whiteley it is for me... Mmkay?
There has been a perception that Louw has been off his game since returning from overseas to play for the Boks, but when that question was put to Proudfoot, the former international prop interjected before the questioner had finished speaking.
“That is a myth, it is a perception that is just not true,” said Proudfoot.
“I was very impressed with Flo in the second test, and I said to him in our one on one on Monday that I thought every decision he made in the contact situation was superb. I really thought that he delivered one of the best performances this year from an international No 6.
“I think that the problem is that people may be looking at the wrong things. The object of an openside flank is not just to steal ball. A key part of his job is to carry on the momentum at the first breakdown. I think people look at a game and judge an opensider by the number of steals he makes at the breakdown and then puts that tag on them.
“But opensiders have different roles. A big part of their role is control of the contact situation. Schalk Burger was not a specialist fetcher, he did many other things though, and he won the World Player of the Year. I thought what Francois did at the first breakdown point last week was phenomenal. I wish I could take everyone to show them what he got through. He was a massive force at the breakdown points.”

It's true. Schalk had Bissie with him and that freed him up. Bissie was then the fetcher and spoiler at the breakdowns. Flo has Strauss...‘Critics are being unfair on Flo’
