Official June 2016 Tests Thread

Willie - Didn't attend the game yesterday
Combrinck - Ball just never got to him. Actually good to have on the field with his big boot. Francois who?
Mapoe - Made lots of tackles, never got the ball.
De Allende - I think he takes the job "straighten the line" a little to literal, never looks for the offload. Mapoe was there a couple of times.
JP - Much better performance, but nowhere near close to MotM. He is just too static when receiving the ball. Same is true Damian.
Jantjies - His tactical kicking game is terrible at the moment. On go forward ball he is brilliant, but he needs to shape up. Will probably be dropped to the bench when Lambie returns.
Faf - what a player. he was tackling the biggest guys on the field. no one on the field has more heart than this guy.
Warren - Mr Dependible. was tackling like a demon
Flouw - I was actually impressed with him for a change. Back to his old form. Lots of tackles and actually tried to steal a ball once or twice.
Kolisi - He could only improve from his performance last week.
PSdT - He was just everywhere. Tackles, carries. Great game for him
Etzebeth - Who is this guy, was he even on the field yesterday?
Malherbe - Even though our scrums were doing ok, Malherbe was still struggling compared to the Beast.
Strauss - Better, would still like to see Marx here.
Beast - He had a beast of a game, scrumming like we know he should.

From the bench:
Bongi - Not enough time for anything
Kitshoff - Monster!! Such a change when he came on
Redelinghuys - Another Monster!!
Mostert - MOSTERT, MOSTERT, MOOOSSSTTTEEERRRTTT!!!!! The man is a machine. Like literally. Deserves Etzebeth's spot.
Kriel - It's all about the defense when he came on, and he was everywhere. Deserves Kolisi's spot.
Paige - Don't even deserve to warm the bench
Steyn - Go home, but thanks for coming.
Mvovo - Stay on the bench thanks.

To those who have watched the highlights... Am I wrong in interpreting that last bit as having been unfair to Ireland? Faf's (brilliant) tackle aside, he didn't release or allow Earls to place the ball... Thus penalty to Ireland...

In the replay I saw he was lying on top of Earls after the tackle...

I'm actually really optimistic about our current bok side. The aussies look to be in a pretty bad place atm. The AB's are still good, but where never really tested all that much by that woeful welsh side.

Our defense yesterday was superb. We tackled the living daylights out of that Irish side. Don't think that it was anything other than a really good Irish side.

I really cannot understand how the rankings work. How can the English be in front of us on the World rankings when they have not beaten us in ten years? We have literally a decade long winning streak ( WIth one draw ) against them and still they are above us. Really how can you claim to be better than a side you have not beaten?

A woeful Welsh side that finished ahead of a full strength Ireland in the recent 6 nations?

In sharp contrast to an injury ravaged Ireland side that just toured SA?

England scoring an away white wash against World Cup finalists Australia earns them a lot of points.

he released but couldn't roll away fast enough, which allowed Kriel to get his hands on the ball. that's how I saw it.

I don't think Kriel did anything wrong - was like that ball like a fat kid on a cupcake, but imo it should have been a penalty to Ireland, because Faf never allowed Earls to place the ball. That opportunity has to be there before a 'holding on' call is made.

If you look closely, you'll see faf trying to get away by lifting himself off the ground, but the bodies piling in just didn't allow him to do that... even though I don't think he wasn't at fault, the penalty probably should've gone Ireland's way because that's just the nature of the rules.
