Reason Im asking is because I think in the EPL you need more than a "shot-stopper", someone who is brave and willing to get into a crowd (when defending high-balls) and command his area.

You need to remember that the EPL is the most physical league in the world so of course he's going to get bossed around in his first season or two. The guy just needs to hit the gym, bulk up a bit and he'll be fine. Having a constant back 4 as well would probably help him. he needs that as well and yes he is young but we dont need young and excuses right now ...we have had problems with keepers in the last decade other than for shmeichel and van der sar and that is a good point playing one week with one set and another with a different week ...

and you right d becks ...the 1st goal was because of that ...and as well as dropped like 2 balls i think and also carrols header shouldt have hit the bar if he controlled it

hear SAF wants to buy another defender ....evans should just be used as a 3rd back up ...and we need another vidic cause our season is getting lost alot at the back ...but hopefully when we get everyone back ...we can win this league

I remember the period inbetween shmeichel and van der sar - absolutely horrible!!!!!!

I dont know whats it gonna be like between VDS and *next number 1 but lets hope that period doesnt last long

We are missing alot of very important players and we were missing a MF at the start of the season to be fair. They should all be returning next month and lets hope thats the last of our injuries because we have had **** luck with injuries.

Vidic is a big loss especially given the uncertainty with the keeper situation - atleast he would take control of the area. I dont like or trust Evans, he goes missing in games and always seems to make us pay when he does. Smalling is a star and will do well with Vida/Jones when a permanent fixture in that CD role. Evra is also suspect over the last few months and was totally out of it yesterday!
 
evra has been cos i think he is getting abit old so when he comes front which he does well and then cannot track back like before

we should maybe give fabio a chance cause for me rafael played excellent ...him park and valencia were the stars....

time will tell ..im praying tonight that tomorrow beofre deadline closes we get sneijder or someone big to attack and someone to play DM ...

Doubt it. Fergie won't be buying anyone now. In the off season maybe, but not now.

I agree about Rafael and Valencia, they make a great partnership together. Good to see Rafael getting a good run of games as well. He's showing us all what he can do.

I would love to see Raf and Fab as our wing backs. Raf is excellent and Fab is actually technically better (both dont back out of a tackle and Raf is winning more than he looses, both attack so well and quick enough to track back and both have heart) so they will rule the full back for many years once they cement their places - staying fit is their only issue..

I dont think he will buy big in Jan and with the return of Cleverly not far and Scholes as a stop gap - we will probably have to wait untill the summer :(

yeah cleverly will be a good return ...hope he plays well ....but we still need a solid dm ...someone like a alonso or mascherano ....

rafael played very well and that goal was all him ...the fight and spirit ....brilliant

DM is what we need - DAMN!!! I miss Keano and where do you find someone half as good even..

Can't the classic play as DM, ie Scholes. Must say Valencia had a brilliant game for you guys. But good luck finding that DM, because if I am not mistaken. It's 2yrs now and still an issue

we were just saying the other day bring back keane ...and arsenal can bring back viera ...what a duel

scholes can but you need someone who can time tackles, hold and have that presence

someone like diarra from RM

Presence is important as well as drive and pace. Look at Carrick as our engine - we look like we stall most of the time rather than drive..:D. I would like someone who runs when has the ball and runs harder when he doesnt

Scholes is no DM even when he was younger but now he needs the ball at his feet coz he aint running after nothing

Hell no scholes as DM... that's sucide his mis-timed tackles will lose us matches..

Nah not against Stoke. They play the ****test football ever.

Also looks like Amos will be in goals tonight. De Gea is sick and Lindegaard is injured.

Edit: just read Kuszczak will be starting. Either way, not good.
