What a strike from Gibson. Can't believe we played with Carrick and Fletcher in defence and WH couldn't even score one..

So you are saying that United's horrible 1st half performance had to do with Carrick and Fletcher playing in defence?

Stop lying to yourself, United were poor. They were made to look good against an EXTREMELY poor West Ham.

Im hoping Barca get United in the next round of the CL. Im sure every Barca fan will be happy with that.

Maybe Barca should try and beat Rubin kazan first.

Rubin are a TRILLION times better than Burnley. They schooled CSKA Moskow a few weeks back, remember that team?

The team United almost lost to. Im sure you remember.

First off, he is an attacking wide player, so lets compare him to likes. But seeing as you've mentioned some, lets look at them:

Carrick - average far too often. Is at his best at maybe 5 games a season.
Fletcher - great energetic midfielder, not the most gifted going forward.
Anderson - good potential, has gone backwards in the last two season, probably not going to make it at United.
Scholes - legend, but coming to the end very soon (i.e May).
Giggs - one of the all time greats but he is not the future.

And those you didn't mention:
Nani - garbage.
Park - not good enough.
Valencia - average.

You think its a coincidence that every report United have given about the termination of the deal has a different excuse? Or that Ferguson was really talking up Adem Ljajic just a little while ago but now he's not good enough? Or that United brought him over to train with the first team and paraded him around Old Trafford with a United top and Ferguson himself but weren't sure he would come?

The only reason this deal has been canceled is because United don't have a tin can to piss in.

Once again, that's a midfield that won the League three times in a row, and the Champions League. So I'm guessing they're a bit better than you're making out.

FACT: United were bidding for Benzema at 25m at the start of the season.
FACT: United bought Valencia for 17m at the start of the season.

No money there obviously :confused:

Except United had Ronaldo before. Lets be clear, I'm not saying it's a bad team. Far from it. But it's certainly isn't the best team we've had or could have.

The information is freely available.

United bid a sum that they knew had no chance of being accepted for Benzema due to Real's interest.

Valencia was signed for an undisclosed fee. People are guessing it is around that 16m mark but I highly doubt that was one lump sum payment and not performance based like most deals recently.

And you are forgetting the the 80m that came in from the sale of Ronaldo. Where did that money go? Definitely not to a striker seeing as we brought in a crippled scouse midget on a free.

Otherwise just have a look at how United have acted recently:
- staff cuts
- screwing over past players and legends for a few bucks
- ridiculous ticket price hikes despite the fact the games never sell out anymore
- the ACS debacle

It goes on and on.

I would have thought the fact that we didn't replace Ronaldo despite the huge amount he was sold for would have woken some supporters up. I guess some people don't care about the future of the club as long as they remain successful in the short term.

Antonio Valencia is not average. He is Manchest United player of the month.

He is a winger. He is not Ronaldo... Ronaldo had much more freedom hence he scored goals. Look at David Beckham , he was a great winger

He played 265 League matches and scored 62 goals...Don't expect much goals from Valencia as his job is to beat the Fullbacks and drop in passes to the strikers in the box.

With regards to Michael Carrick . He is a defensive midfielder...his job is to get the ball back and protect our CB's ...he isn't there to be running forward with the ball attempting to score.

Nani lacks confidence...I am not sure what his future holds.

All in all...we still have a strong team and as long as we are winning games , there is no need to complain.

The last time you said that about chelski your team was frustrated by Chelski... your team had to resort to bias ref get you to the final...

lets leave it at that,

United tried with two midfielders in defence West Ham couldn't beat them end of story.
