It was Horrendous, i would leave the game with the menu just sitting there waiting for it to 'Match' other players for over half an hour sometimes, from my experience, dedicated servers have been much better

Yes and no :p
MW2 was one of the best games. But for alot of us it was very frustrating getting games. That is where your steam friendslist helped alot!!!
And remember if you host you are using alot of GB's per month (no worries to the uncapped people)

Now Blops came and the dedicated servers promised to solve almost everything. Which it did not. With the half designed game....:whistling:

There is going to be alot of b!tching about this again. But lets just wait and see when the final product arrives

+1, but also keep in mind, since MW2, a lot of people have seen a nice bump in speed, eg: 4mbps to 10mbps and 512kbps to 1mbps, so yeah, this time around I think it will work better. Hopefully by the time the game gets release, I will have something better than iburst. :(

Wonder if the console is going to stay?

this is going to be fail in s.a , say mw3 choose a mweb or telkom player to host the game, bad stuff will happen, we need dedicated servers!!

I do not totally disagree, as even MW2 was far from a fail. But remember for Blops the people on telkom can rather play on Europe servers due to Mweb.
The one side gives a little and the other takes. We will never have it perfect:(

MWEB just forced an archaic practise into its glory...unfortunately Telkom don't want to play ball (Greedy mofo's). So I would say MWEB +1, TELKOM - 99999999.

Good point, that may improve the matchmaking.

Ah yes, those awesome moments when you were itching for a game of MW2 and ended up going to bed an hour later because no matches were made or the host migration failed or the host just quit. Why would any non-dumb person want that all over again you may ask .... because they are gluttons for punishment and love to moan for months on end.

Thanks but no thanks ..... unless Alteriwnet arrives again, it will be BF3 getting my money and time.

What?? People actually considering buying this cash-in again? I've learned my lesson after fail-ops. Activision won't be fooling me 3 times. MW2 was good, but the matchmaking IWNet spoiled it. Then came the rushed cash-in Blops, still using the same 5 year old engine. And now we're going to get a mixture of fail matchmaking with the old engine.

Yes I am. :(

I saw in that online video for MW3, that the guys say they are trying to aim for a constant minimum fps of 60, so I assume that is why they are still using the old engine. n00bs. If your pc can't run the game, it's time to upgrade.

No...they are using the old engine because this is a console game first and foremost. The old engine runs just fine on the consoles, so all they have to do is upgrade some textures and shuffle it out again. No need to develop anything new since the console hardware cant handle much more anyways.

My money is also going to Battlefield 3, 64 person multi-player and a new engine and gameplay designed for PC first and console second.

Completely different games, completely different playstyles and both will be getting my money...although I might wait for some reviews on MW3, BF3 is a pre-order for sure.

Each year we have the same type of discussion.
Last year was Blops and MOH. Year before that was MW2 and Bad Company 2.

No doubt BF3 looks superior, but yet again in RSA MW3 will sell more, therefore have a larger online community. And that is the sad reality

Im sure COD was originally a PC game, just shows you where activisions development priorities are, not in the PC market, i wish they had invested the time into a new engine, problems is they make so much cash of the xbox market, its easier to reskin and rehash.

Despite the negativity around the game my decision will be based on the number of clan members getting it and the fun factor of the game. I am willing to except P2P frustrations as long as the game actually works like COD4 and Modern Warfare 2.

I hate this game more and more ....

So since the DLC has been available, who has had:

1- choppy / laggy gameplay?
2- Loading errors into maps / mismatched files etc?

I dont even have the DLC content so I changed nothing!
