Official NOKIA N8 thread

Hi All

Where can I download a free GPS tracker for my N8? One must be able to do live tracking via Google.

Yeah, actually I'm interested as well..

Like one where you can check using a website or something :D

Try MyWorld gps tracker perhaps. Not free but if you creative can find it somewhere.
 
but you need latitude on your phone as well.. and I don't think there is an app for that for the N8 yet.. :(
 
Thanks all. I used Google Maps and Latitude in the past but it always gave incorrect positions and I stopped using it.
Had a look at MyWorld GPS and however its free via Nokia Store I don't like the idea to get it registered and I have my reasons for that.
 
^Great news, hopefully Belle will be launched across the entire range of S^3 devices. Waiting on belle for my E7

Working perfectly, just have to uninstall some of the crap they included.

Oh happy days, it sure has been a long wait!!

Remember to use Nokia Cooker to remove Hero Of Sparta demo from the UDA, it's the last file in sys I think, you'll see HOS references.. repack, flash, saves you +/-90mb! :D

Edit: Seems it was pulled cos Nokia testers have now recieved a further RC .609. Bt it's getting close at least.

Let me say... Great phone. Quite strong as well. Dropped it in the road the other day. Was in Pinelands where all the roads are very knobbly. Flew out of my jacket pocket like nothing I have seen before. Picked it up expecting it to be useless and a total f**king mess. It was working perfectly... Dropped it again later that day in a pub, flew even further than before. Picked it up and not a scratch.

After that I was thinking "Iphone... Eat your heart out."

But whatever you do, don't let it fall from small heights, it prefers the big ones as I have been shown. Was walking up my carpeted stairs last night and it fell from my hand, fell about 2 steps. Picked it up, worked fine, then this morning the touch screen started to fail. Some areas of it would work, just not the right side of it. Then it would not work at all then seem to fix itself and so on and so fourth.

Then it seemed that the screen had swapped itself around. When I touched the left side of the screen, it would operate the right side... very strange.

Called Nokia and they were more than helpful. Said they would have it fixed within a week. Not that I am holding fingers or anything because we all know it will take much much longer than a week.

Nevertheless, it has been a very good phone for the past 9 Months and it still it. The only problem with it is the owner, very incompetent. Next time I will button up the pocket and keep a tighter grip on it.

As far as I remember, all the Belle firmwares can be downgraded to the Scandinavian v11 and then updated again from there, so yes, should be possible to upgrade to the official one this way if not directly to it.
 
You can upgrade directly from any 111.030.0607 FW to the final release when it comes out in Jan/Feb 2012.
 
Which version of Belle do you guys use:

I use the latest FW that was leaked over Navifirm, a T-mobile-PL version with the UDA stripped of all unnecessary programs, +/-170mb free on C: after install..
