Official PS3 HDMI Cable

My setup:

PS3
Wharfedale WH46 Full HD LCD
HDMI Cable (720p, 1080i, 1080p - 1.3b)

Same setup the whole time.

When I play PS3 Games I can play it in 720p, 1080i and 1080p with excellent quality picture.

When I watch a DVD on PS3 the picture quality is not good at all.

When I watch a Blu-Ray DVD on my PS3 the picture quality is good but not like it's supposed to be.
I think Penguin wanted to know what the point of this thread was if you have a working cable?

You cannot use the term "Bluray DVD" because DVD is the old generation format. Bluray is the new format. People usually refer to bluray discs as BD.
So new format is BD and old format is DVD.
BD = Bluray disc
DVD = Digital video disc
Just say bluray movies for terminology's sake.
;)

Piesang when You play a DVD which is not HD and you set the PS3 to upscale the DVD/SD then it would upscale it to the best possible if at all. The best is to either download a true 720p and 1080p movie and stream/play it on the PS3 or buy a true 1080p BluRay like Hulk or other (Video spec at back must say 1080p) and test the unit again. Re3member BluRay just refers to the actual media and a BluRay title may just be standard DVD with 5.1 sound sold on BlueRay media.

It makes 100% sense to me. Thanks for this info.
