Great news Mike & 'Wag', enjoy! I'm quite disgusted in myself...2 hours after I got the phone I let it fall on our floor (tiles):cry:

and that was just before I started cleaning...thus a couple of sand granes involved. Couldn't find any scratches then but when I looked in the sunlight today...definately got some damage to the screen....damn this town for always being behind on everything! Need my cover, now!

Hi guys

I got my phone yesterday. Absolutely love it! My old Galaxy S started to get a bit too old.

Has anyone managed to root yet? If so, what did you use. The best I can find is CF Auto root, but that does not give you CWM recovery...

i'm so confused about which network to go with. 8ta & cellC both say their data promotions are not available on voice enabled sim cards, and the data pricing is crazy for voice. What are you guys using?
 
Hey guys can I please get some feedback from guys who have had the device for a while.

How do you use the device day to day? Texting calling etc? Whats the battery life like? Are you using a custom rom or stock? Does it restart at all by itself? How is Wifi reception in comparison to other devices? (I find my SGS has very poor reception thus is a concern)

I'm leaning towards getting one myself as an upgrade from my SGS and was looking for some practical feedback. Also this device would be killer for the Baldur's Gate Enhanced edition with the s-pen...

Texting and calling are very nice on this thing. I get much better quality than my old Nokia. Messages load quickly and typing is very easy, especially with a keyboard app.
Battery is excellent. I've been using it extensively. Playing games, constant email and browsing, playing with the S-Pen, trying out new apps - I charge the battery every 2 days.
Stock, I'm new to smartphones and android so I'll stick with stock for now.
Haven't had any self-restarts
Wifi is great. It picks up my work and home wifi in the underground parking already
I doubt they will release BGEE on the Note II. I read that at this point building a custom UI for phone screens would be too much work.
