OMG I played with one at work and it is really king of the hill. Super fast, beautiful screen, huge. Nice weight to it so it feels very premium. If you have the cash buy this phone!

bfore.co.za is having an amazing deal on it.

Jip that is a great price, but they are new to me. Anybody had dealings with them in the past?
Shlt scared to send my money to a scammer.
How is Payfast? Are they legit?

The guys on the Carbonite forum seem to be able to vouch for them. They have run deals like this in the past (For the S3 and other phones).

Yes, if you are willing to tie yourself up in another long term contract.

Nothankyouverymuch. :)

Payfast seems legit and very security conscious.

The way the deal is structured you are not tied up into a contract. You don't sign anything with MTN.
You make a once off payment for the phone and get a contract sim which is in Bfore's name, with R50 airtime per month.
The sim means nothing to me though, I'll give it away/leave it in the cupboard.
MTN's anytime airtime is useless because they force you to do everything out of bundle anyway. So R50 = 25mb. What a joke.
I took a chance on this one, I'll report back my findings after I get the phone.
So far though, everyone seems very helpful and quick to respond to queries.
But I'll reserve my judgement for when the deal is finalised.

Did some reading and it seems ok. Going to take the plunge as well, but let us know if/when you receive the phone

Will do. I read a lot as well and enquired via e-mail.
They are quick to respond.
Phones are released today so I hope I get mine soon.

EDIT: Just as I typed the reply I received an e-mail notification that my order has been approved and finalised by MTN and will be dispatched. It says delivery will be between 48 and 72 hours.

Shows you how much homework I did, hey :o

Interesting, it will be great to get some feedback from you little furry fellas ;)

Guys, where to get covers for these devices?
I am so nervous walking around with no protection on my toy (damn - sounds bad). If nothing local then I will go eBay, but would prefer to get something sooner.

Yeah me too, went to a Vodashop last week and they told me to try MTN O_o

But anyway, looking for screen protector and anything to keep it safe, any luck anywhere?

Ordered a case, book case and vent mounted car dock on eBay today.
Also just flashed Omega without bloatware.

Busy day for my N2 :p

When the wife left the room me and the credit card did the deed. Now waiting for that call from mtn:D

Hi Droidx. Am new to the forum and am thinking of doing the same. Just wanted to check if you have any feedback on the guys at bfore.co.za or MTN re your N2?

Thanks

The guys at Bfore are great. The only problems I have is that MTN sent out a normal sim with a device that takes a microsim, in fairness to them, they are correcting the issue. I have also been messed around big time by RTT, really not impressed, but that is a matter I'll take up with them. It also seems like an isolated incident because everyone else seemed to be fine with delivery.

If you want the device, do it, it's a great deal.
