Official Sony Xperia Z4 thread

I will move to android when my upgrade is due in September. Looks like there will be lots of options.

Ideally I would like this or the s6, but with stock lollipop

That resolution is not needed. Just wastes battery life.

I remember reading though it might come in two different resolutions.

I'm so glad they are moving to usb slot at the bottom. My Z3 slot on the top left is a pain. I have actually removed the cover completely to make cable insertion easier.

Just get the magdock. Much easier to use.

They need a new design IMO. They all look identical so basically if you weren't sold on the Z1 you still aren't a fan today. A huge proportion of users buy phones based on looks. Sony mobile isn't doing well so it boggles my mind why they stick to the same formula.

Who are you and why have you stolen Fanny's account?:D

Looks good, Sony finally realises that 16GB just doesn't cut it anymore for a 2012 phone.

Now if only they could realise that the ridiculous 6-month release cycle is costing them in the long run. They should stop pumping out new phones and support the existing ones or people will get fed up.

I don't see the problem with 6 monthly release cycles; you don't have to buy if you don't want to.

They probably have been releasing a flagship every 6 months because people are buying. They are the 3rd biggest phone seller (W.Europe). I know that I generally buy 2 or 3 phones a year and don't want to wait a year for a new device. It's rare I want to keep a phone much longer than 6 months, anyway, hence my Z3 Compact is soon on the way out.

The problem was that they were spending a lot of money on 6 months releases and not seeing the returns. I know it's not a problem for you, but it was to them.

I think Sony's problem is that they were releasing a lot of utter crap in the low and mid end; multiple devices that no-one wanted; their flagships (since the Z1) have been good.

I'd like to see other manufacturers release flagships every 6 months or so instead of once a year.

The released the S5 last year. Best selling smartphone ever... they still weren't happy with the results.

A 6month release cycle is nice for the customer, meaning that his next phone won't be something that's more than 6 months old already. Just doesn't work financially for the OEMs

Well, I've had my 6 months with the Z3C - only hope the Z4 is released soon else I may try out the S6
