Official Springbok Tri-Nations Thread

Brave effort in the last 10 mins or so and with 14 men!

wanted to check something though... Mattfield got a yellow card for that high tackle, the ref didn't even think twice. But was that tackle any more dangerous than when Mcdonald almost removed Habana's head?

We looked great in the first half, but as soon as our big loose forwards started to tire we lost the upfront advantage. We should have been able to take big Joe off and replace him with Terminator Spies (or even Kankowski) not Twatson. Butch didn't have a great game either, but I'm not sure what real options we have at flyhalf.

I agree that Matfield shouldn't be the captain. JdV or Bismark would be better as leaders.

handy for the AB's, that was when it was 'last warning' time ...... tis always the Boks who get the cards didn't you know

@arf9999 - agree with you about Butch, maybe Ruan should have more of a go there?

Altho you must admit he did give a clear last warning after a prior AB infraction... so everyone knew what would be next...
As Naas said afterwards - the card played into our hands - no-one expected us to tri thereafter :D

All I can say is wow. That was awesome. My humble pie tastes delicious. I bet a buddy pizza that we would lose this game, and I'm buying it with pleasure.

I went absolutely ape crap when Januarie chased that ball. What a great great game of rugby by both teams. GO BOKKE! Hopefully we can build on this and tear the Aussies a new one next week. If we can do that we're in a pretty good position to take the cup, now how sweet would that be?

Hmmm so much more talk on this thread when we lose.... :) So thought I better come on and shout BOKKKKKKKEEEEEEE again

Does victory actual shut up the anti SA squad? Damn may we win everything going forward! :) At least I still make noise even when we lose ha ha :)

And now they are citing Du Plessis for alleged eye gouging .......... what's the bet that if he's guilty (methinks not but just in case), he gets a 6 week ban or some such sh*t ..... he's a Bok, not an AB after all

Did you see the ******* commentators milking it when the replay of the ruck was shown... Bismarck's hand was on the chaps face and they immediately made comments like "I hope Mr Citing Commissioner is watching that..."

Sorry but kiwi's are total c_cks! And that may be a generalisation but it is an educated one as I have lived with about 10 in my two years in Ldn and have heard enough of them on telly so law of averages states they must all be!

Unless I was REALLY unlucky and I just happened to meet the 10 c_cks from NZ in my stay in Ldn! :)

Lol, NZ only having 10 cawks ....... never ;) I definitely prefer the Aussies when it comes to commentating ...........

It's more a case of anti PDV:)

I'm not a rugby fan but i'm happy for the team:)

burp, fall over, crawl laugh and cry!!!!!

Great day for South African rugby and South Africa.
This test will forever be on all the classic reviews for many many years to come.
After watching it again, it could have gone both ways but in the end we took it to them and never gave up.
After last week, this must be like a supercharged adrenalin shot straight to the heart for the confidence of this team.
Well done.
:D

I have to say it though, Watson almost blew it for us and he was the only guy on the field back peddling into tackles. How long are they going to persist with this oke?

first time we beat them in New Zeland!

/Me theirs always a first time for everthing :D

It was the All Blacks first loss at home since 2003.

It was the Springboks first win against the All Blacks in 10 years and the first at Carisbrook.

:D

The Springbok win, balancing the Tri-Nations series after their 19-8 loss to the All Blacks in Wellington last weekend, ended New Zealand's world-record run of 30 Test wins at home and gave South Africa their first win at Dunedin's Carisbrook ground.

:)

All Blacks vs Springboks:
Games played: 74 Won: 41 Lost: 30 Drawn: 3 % Won 56.0%

That's one more to us :)

Time to turn it around!

Tri-Nations is another story tho - we have some catching up to do there!
