Years ago they had training on Charles Morkel (Helderberg) rugby grounds and stayed over in the then Lord Charles Hotel. They got transported by VW Kombi’s and Toyota Camry’s, this was the day that I realised how huge he was at that time in rugby, even today, he took up near the entire Camry backseat like 2/3. The only thing that he could not do in rugby was turn around, kick the ball over him or get tackled by a Bok.
