Official Super Rugby 2014 Thread

I see sharks are 8:1 to win this year. While my team is doing better than I expected, I do believe that if the bananas can win, this year is their best prospect yet. And at those odds, I'd risk it. Chiefs are 9:2 (they are looking good so far) sure but the Crusaders at 11:2 is simply stupid. They're at 11th at the moment and look like shït again this year. Trading on name...

I don't see the Stormers continuing the pace through the second half. They're gonna need a good buffer leading into half time. The Brumbies play a full 80...

I don't have that vision problem.

/high hopes here

My hierarchy of virtue:
Lions
Cheetahs
Bulls
Sharks
Stormers

Those with a deep knowledge of the culture in agriculture will note a bias towards what coastal people term mielie-crunchers. This bias finds its genesis in historical and geographic factors, chiefly because I once was in a Southern Transvaal U16 team. This unswerving loyalty in defiance of all reason has deep psychological roots ... so strong is the temptation to polygamy that it can only be countered by an even stronger commitment to monogamy, and this libidinal cathexis spills over into an irrational loyalty to the Lions.

My wife is a Clinical Psychologist and a committed Freudian, though Klein's Object Theory has a part in her cosmic schema. Anyway, she has long said that I am a hopeless case and beyond the reach of any therapy. She had no difficulty switching to the Stormers when we emigrated from the Transva.., er, Gauteng to the Western Cape in 2010.

Of course I understand that none of you people even know the Lions are playing before the Loftus game.
But I Shall Watch.
I Shall Shout.
I Shall Drink Beer.
I Shall Laugh and Weep and go through the whole gamut of emotions that only Lions Supporters know, including magnanimity in defeat.

The Sport Pienaar union that I represented at U20 level no longer exists. Sadly.

Anyone have a site where I can stream the Sharks vs Bulls Game tonight at around 350mb/hour?

Today, you shall be spared.

Well that wasn't expected...

There goes the streak. There goes the GSP. There goes my whole game plan.

And it's only gonna get worse for you, Greg. Best take Monday off before the Bulls lose, to make it seem more legit...
