Bob must be wetting his pants at the loss ........

Sharks just didn't show up for this match. Didn't help that Steyn got all emo so early on.

He just isn't flyhalf material.

The most frustrating thing is how easy it was for them to pin us in our own half and feed off our mistakes.

They left it in durban knew the tour was going to be a hard one

The brumbies looked mediocre at best, the sharks were just plain k@k! This is a game the sharks could have easily won on another day, they just don't seem interested.

Thank you Cheetahs for ruining my 12 game winning streak. :(

Naka...long past his shelf life. Just like Allister Coetzee.

Ouch. Crusaders pummelled the Reds. First 50+ point victory for them in Aus. And first game in 20 matches that the Reds lost while leading at half time at home.

Got my first GSP! Woo!

Well done, Orbital. What was the final score?

Stormers living up to their name. .. been a stormy year for them. It amusing they at the bottom of the log... lol.

Fscking Cheetahs.

FU :p

Lions did well to make the almost comeback.

Cheetahs.... well you were just not up for it.

Sharks could not get on the front foot and as soon as they got a little momentum they kicked the ball. Leave the Bulls game plan to the Bulls.

The Stormers looked like they would be upsetting a few Bulls fans, but the Bulls kept calm and the Stormers did not seize all of the opportunities offered to them.

The South African teams are not looking great for this year. The sharks must just own up as they have a good chance to get a home Semi.

Very hard for them to own up though, injuries have decimated SA. Any team that sits with more than a teams worth of injured players is gonna sukkel like mad to get any semblance of teamwork :(

My question is where is the 2nd string? The Bulls seem to be doing ok with their third string, relics and young guns.

Is it only me or does it feel like SA has more injuries than AUS and NZ? If so is our conditioning below par?

Funny you should ask. Happened across this, this morning:

Some stats at this point in the competition:

http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/Super15/Staggeringly-worrying-S15-stats-20140513

Matches played per Conference:

Australia - 52
New Zealand - 53
South Africa - 57

So, the five SA team have played 4 matches more than their Kiwi counterparts and a full 5 more than their Australian foes.

One would naturally then expect them to have won more matches and picked up more points...

But NO!

Matches won per Conference:

Australia - 27
New Zealand - 30
South Africa - 22

Log points per Conference:

Australia - 128
New Zealand - 151
South Africa - 113

South African teams have long been criticised for their lack of try-scoring abilities and that's perfectly displayed in the try scoring charts - and bonus points for scoring four or more tries in matches.

Tries scored per Conference:

Australia - 123
New Zealand - 155
South Africa - 103

Try-scoring bonus points per Conference:

Australia - 11
New Zealand - 18
South Africa - 8

Scarily, the Sharks (18), Bulls (18) and Lions (16) - who are the leading three teams in the SA Conference, are the three BOTTOM teams in the try-scoring charts!

SA teams teams kick a lot and play less expansive rugby. I am willing to bet the Aussies and Kiwis also average more running meters per person per touch of the ball than the Saffas.

I think this might also explain some of the higher rate of injury amongst SA teams, as we do take a lot / receive more contact than the other two countries.
