Going to be a super tighty I reckon but think the Lions will edge it. Come weekend entertainment, come.
As I have already said, the Lions has the advantage at the scrums and the lineouts on paper. They only need to retain the ball as much as possible and that is where they will apply their work rate in order to advance the ball through their backline. However, the Hurricanes has matched and outplayed the Lions once already this year, when the Lions was superior on paper. Ackermann has work to do, at least he has his #1 props this time around which will resolve the issue at the scrum they had in their previous meeting with the Hurricanes.
Westpac stadium, like Newlands, draw the wind in a swirling motion. A strong wind will give the Hurricanes an upper hand as they are trained to play in these 'home' conditions, they know how to kick and control the ball. The lions, well, they will need to play with some unpredictability and trust that the ball will go their way.
It is a hard call; it is too hard to say which team has the better players. I will say this, Beauden is above Elton. A close game may even come down to which team is capable enough to add the conversions and turn the penalties into points.
