It doesn't bother me so much - the reason why some people claim to support the AB and saders I find (for lack of a better word) stupid.

But here in Bloem every second person either supports the Bulls/Sharks/Stormers so some people supporting another team in Cpt doesn't bother me.

The Obama thing is a meme

I find really weird how badly supported the Cheetahs were last night. They are having the season of their lives and there is absolutely no one there.

I've got a season ticket but the bad weather kept a lot of people at home - stadium should have 20k for the Stormers game next week.

Oh I did not attend yesterday. Sad but my mates were in the final stages of moving so I wasn't gonna brave the bad weather on my own.

Why? Surely one isn't obligated to support any specific teams?

They can cheer for whoever they want. Pity that at yesterday's game they were generally the loudest and most pissed. A sub-section of people that is most unfortunately and undeservingly basking in this unexpected limelight.

On second thought, fukk 'em. :)

Haha, well that's different. Them being asses at the stadium is a legitimate reason for disliking them. I just find it odd that people get so upset when local people support other teams.

Plenty of Bulls falls genuinely get mad when they see people around Pretoria supporting the Sharks, as well.

Pfft.... Try being a Cheetahs supporter in Pretoria and explaining to them that you were not born or raised in the Free State but you still willingly choose not to support the Bulls.

Friend of mine goes through that. I dunno, though. From what I've seen the Bulls/Sharks rivalry seems worse.

I willingly choose not to support the Bulls and I support NZ teams, so everyone hates me. :D

The Bulls were stupid this weekend. Cannot fkn believe it. We should know by now that decisions that could go either way invariably will go against the ZA teams, first off. Secondly, when you have played 80 minutes of rugby and trailed behind the entire time, you regard yourself as lucky to get a draw so if it is handed to you, for fks sakes, take the damn points! We the fans would have been much happier with a hard-worked draw but let's risk it all. And then afterwards, we can blame the ref for a poor decision. I have said it a thousand times before and will again, if the ref has the power to give the game away in either direction at the end of the game, then neither team has done much to establish and protect their lead - that is the only way a ref is not a factor. While his decision sucked and was probably wrong, the prior decision not to take the draw was stupid and equally wrong.

During my time in Pretoria I was a member of the Pretoria Sharks Supporters Club... had some good times!! hehehe

I think what I said was a bit inaccurate. I don't not support them. They're just not my top team. Main reason being I don't really like the way they play. The stereotypical kicking, bumper car style of rugby annoys me. That being said, when they show some confidence in their back line and go for it then I like watching them.

Why not another SA team?

I'm not very picky, tbh. I like pretty much all SA teams, and generally root for them. The Lions were a bit bleh, though. :p
