When did this whole lying down with your foot in the dead ball area, or in touch, become fashionable?

I'm sure law changes did not result in it being the norm, well at least I hope so. I really think the laws need to be changed so that it is no longer allowed. It takes away a great aspect of the game as a spectator where you used to wait in anticipation to see if the ball would stop just inside the dead ball line or whether it'd roll dead. Now some player just spoils all the fun and lies with his foot over the line and grabs the ball which is still over a metre in field!

The only time the ball should be allowed to be fielded in field and then taken out is if you take the player is in the air.

Lancelogic (TM)

If you're referring to du Preez winning a line out, you evidently don't know too much about the modern rules...

A further observation, now that we have reached the end of the season, on how the Stormers supporters all of a sudden out number any other supporters on the poll on here now that they made the final :) Would be interesting to track what it looked like as the season progressed! ;)

Oh yeah sorry it is all about the Bulls! I specifically made no mention of a particular incident as it has been happening throughout the Super 14.

You will see I made specific reference to the rules but seeing as though you are such a smart arse why not answer the question I asked! Was this a law that was implemented to allow this or was it merely a loop hole that is now being exploited?

Otherwise just go and have another brandy and coke and I'll discuss it with someone sensible!

Well done Bulls. Pity about some of the calls. Looking objectively, I counted about 10 really bad calls. 8 of those calls went against the Stormers. But the Stormers looked really flat in the 1st quarter, like they were trying to slow the game down when opportunities to score/gain field position were there for the taking.

You sure you were watching the game? Bulls were killing them on the ground then the funny decisions were coming, after that the January 'try'. Luckily it had no influence on the final outcome.

Yeah I still don't understand that penalty early in the game where Francois Louw stole the ball from the Bulls and then Joubert awards a penalty to the Bulls for not rolling away. Honestly...

Good luck shutting me up!

Hahahahahahaa

And to Jaco - well done you make me proud. Wear that shirt boy - it irritates Lance more than that (third) S14 medal you wear....

Time to update my sig....

What does the "Bulls were killing them on the ground" have to do with my post? You sure you reading the correct post?

There were forward passes from both sides, only 1 side was blown. Scrum through 90 degrees twice, not given. There was a classic, player on the ground (in a ruck) with hand on ball, ref shouts: "5, leave the ball, 5 leave the ball" - 5 continues playing the ball for another 4-5 seconds, ref does nothing.

Nice win for the Bulls and congrats to them for an excellent and well paced season.

The Stormers deserved to be in the final but wasn't their day today.

Weldone Bulls, Stormers... pathetic, one would have thought you'd put up more of a fight. I could understand if they tried and the Bulls defence was valient but both teams handling & play was poor for a final. Was pretty boring if it were a normal game.

oh & the 2nd try wasnt one.

Well done Bulls. Like many people on the board the ref's display really wasn't that good. But likely he made errors to both teams and the team that looked more convincingly won.

I was going to make a similar comment when someone stating what a great game it was. It wasn't! But I thought I'd refrain as my dislike for the Bulls is rather apparent.

They are the reason I share the sentiments of the IRB in constantly changing the laws to ensure teams don't resort to boring repetitive tactics to win games.

Ironically they're one of the better teams to quickly adapt to new rules. As soon as they start winning games on the trot you have *********** (like youself) calling the game boring.

Well I'll ignore the insult and just report that part (as stated before, not my usual way but it is the suggested manner according to many on here) but as regards the law changes, it is just a matter of the referees interpreting them correctly. They still don't blow the truck and trailer rule correctly. It also needs to be looked at further. How can someone defend when the ball is being held by a player who is linked behind several other players in a straight line.

You may call it brilliant, exciting, thrilling rugby but when the Bulls are in the lead and shut the game down by taking the ball up repeatedly with the forwards with no intention of actually doing something with it, then I call that boring! One of many examples of boring rugby!
