I feel 5 or 6 of the penalties could have been avoided if the referee would just open his trap and communicate with the players. At the moment it is a free-for-all. And the referee not talking to players.

Well, call it sour grapes if you must but I will be shouting for any teams playing against the Bulls for the rest of the season....

Ah well, no shame in that defeat in my opinion .... the boys gave it their best. One or two things fukked up / 'missed' by Kaplan, but for both sides.

The runaway victory predicted for the Bulls was far from it and if they play like that against the Stormers, the Bulls will lose that match, for sure.

Well undoubtedly it was a good display by the Sharks for the large majority of the game. However it was inevitable that the Bulls were going to get a try at some point with all the possession they had. A bit bleak that Morne missed quite a few easy kicks...but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and blame the bad weather conditions.

Was a good game. Could have been a spectacle, if Kaplan controlled the game better.

Next week I am in the Media Box at Loftus. Crusaders would want to bounce back. Should be just as physical as this game.

I'll say it again, they are not nearly as dominant as they were at the start of the season. In fact, I spotted a Bulls supporter or two recently stating that the Bulls may have peaked to early and I also noticed that none of them got attacked like I did when I insinuated that they were on a downward slide. Sounds like the same thing to me :D

Now we have to ensure that Stormers and Bulls finish on top. This way we get both semi's in SA and, most probably, the final as well!

Just remember to take advantage of all the free beer on offer! :D :p

Haha. After the work is done I might drink one or two.

I'm actually going to be working there. All Access MediaPass approved for all Loftus matches.

Log looking good for Stormers and Bulls.
But both have tough games for final two rounds.

+1. Anyone can do better than the Lions...surely. Just wondering, who do you currently support?

I actually found an interesting article the other day which showed how many Super 14 players come from Eastern Cape schools - it shows that there is actually plenty of talent there - well at least a team that would most likely beat the Lions in any case, although would still probably come in the last 3.

Centres: Tim Whitehead – Stormers (Grey PE – EP) Sam Gerber – Bayonne (Despatch – EP) Rudi Coetzee – Bourgoin (Framesby – EP) Meyer Bosman – Cheetahs (Oakdale – SWD)

Flyhalf: Bret Russel – Clermeont (Selborne – Border) Lionel Cronje – Stormers (Queens College – Border) Conrad Barnard – Toulon (Framesby – EP)

Scrumhalf: Rory Kockott – Sharks (Selborne College) Chris Jonck – Lions (Despatch – EP)

I reckon Stormers still have a good chance to end first, if they play like they played against Crusaders.
Sharks won't stand a chance and Bulls will struggle at Newlands to beat them. But only if they keep up their current form. So often this season they slipped a bit after a good performance.

I predict 2 home semi finals for South Africa. I can't say who will end top.
Other 2 places are there for the taking. 5 teams still in the race.

As for The Lions. It's sad to see them plonk about like they do. I'm not so sure Southern Kings will do better. We don't need another team giving NZ/AUS teams free 5 pointers.
SARU should just let them prove themselves in the Currie Cup and we will take it from there. SARU really dragging their feet on this issue.

Used to be an ardent EP supporter and sat many a day on the cold cement at the Boet!! Stopped when it got very political in EP club rugby and that impacted on the "mighty elephants".

I can still recall camping outside the Boet in 1974 to buy tickets for the SA-Lions game...

Remember that the Sharks was originally an Natal/Border/EP team, so that is where my allegiance lies - until such time as the Southern Kings are awarded a Super 14/15 slot.

The way the Lions are playing, I really think that SARU should look reforming the Cats. The Lions are on course for a 0-13 season, beating the Bulls 0-11 season from 2002. Really people, the Kings can't do worse than loosing EVRY game.

As for the Currie Cup option, I think it would be great, and there is precedent for it, Natal got bumped up some time in the 80s, I think. The problem is, I'm not sure how long the CC wil last. Super Rugby keeps getting bigger, it's supposed to expand to 18 teams in 2013. That's apperently when SARU want to get the Kings in. I'd settle for Currie Cup Premier Division for 2010, 2011, and 2012, and then Super 18 from 2013. Just wish that it would happen.

I also still support the Sharks, since EP was once a aprt of that franchise.

Thanks Chris, cool list. There is also JP Joubert (scrumhalf) from Framesby in PE.

I am a Stormer, but I don't think we will end up 1st. That 5-point lead is just to much to make up. Even if we beat the Bulls, we won't beat them with a bonus point and I also can't see it happening against the Sharks.
