Official Transfers & Rumours 2012/13 Thread

would be a shame if sterling left. he has loads of potential. kenny's youth policy frustrated me though. hope buck rodger's brother has a better one. sturridge is a tad optimistic. johnson might be cheesed off enough at missing out on england to leave city. well defoe almost joined the last window.

but you never know, its the silly season.

Transfer of Sigurdsson to Tottenham completed.

We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim.

The attacking midfielder is no stranger to the Premier League having enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Swansea City during the second half of last season.

He scored seven times in 19 appearances as well as picking up the Barclays Player of the Month award for March.

The Iceland international originally moved to England with Reading, coming through their academy to make 51 appearances and scoring 23 times. He was named Player of the Year in his only full season in the Royals First Team before moving to the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim in 2010. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/sigurdsson-to-join-club-04072012.page?

Why would he wana go to a club thatd in the same position as the gooners
Really, because we have been trophyless in the last 7yrs, feed all our players to City, and have a player like Bendtner refusing to come back and play for us....

and if you want to be nit picky....we ended above you in the league (tied with first for points )

No, because they finished 2nd/3rd, both in Champions League.

Yes but that obvioulsy not keeping him there -- he wants more interms of going forward in his career and we are in a better position to offer him that hence leaving us in a different position to Arsenal

Ok lets put it like this: Say RvP moves to Utd, who plays upfront? Rooney and Rvp? Just RvP, Rooney and Welbeck?

Utd isn't an option for him because he can't replace Rooney and Welbeck is improving so SAF wouldn't want to get rid of him/bench him.

Van Persie won't fit in at United yes. Besides, what with our luck with injuries last season, he'd be out for the entire season after the first game.

Exactly. So I dunno why dbecks is getting all butthurt about Arsenal and Utd being in the same position with regard to RvP.

RVP or any other player isnt the argument in terms of team tactics and so on - I was defending our club because its an insult being classed the same as Aresenal....:D

Ezekiel Fryers on his way to Spurs apparently. Good riddance. Yet another kid demanding appearances and ludicrous wages after 2 Carling Cup appearances.
