Same in cape Town all day.
I opened a ticket but have had no reply yet.
Streaming was bad on DSTV Now, Showmax, NETFLIX and YouTube.
Telkom was fine so I stayed on Telkom for the rest of the day.
Saturday and Sunday were so Bad that I had to use a Pirate Euro Sport stream to watch Le Mans as the DSTV stream was unusable.

Personaly I think that DSTV bandwidth and most ISP's are overlaoded with people streaming FIFA world Cup so local bandwidth is being shaped to hell.

Yup performance on Vox was poor last night in CPT, have had a few days bad hours over the weekend as well, usually at night.

Will hopefully pass once FIFA is over.
 
Had high latencies last night again on VOX network. Testing with another isp latencies goes back down to normal...been happening quite a bit lately causing me not to be able to game online.
 
I am currently getting 40KBs on a line that is synced at 12Mbs trying to stream DSTV Now.
Still no reply to my open ticket either.
For the 5th day in a row I will have to revert to Telkom as VOX is unusable.

Edit:
Switched to Telkom and the DSTV Now stream is running at 747KBs vs 40KBs.

What do you guys get when going here? And what line? I'm having the suspicion that Vox has been severely throttling all international connections lately. Including Capped accounts. Either that or there is problem with international traffic from Vox for a while now. On other test connections no such issues.

Your Internet speed is 9.1 Mbps

My Router reports:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12476 kbps 765 kbps

Tested with my Telkom Account


Your Internet speed is 9.0 Mbps

Tested with My VOX account.

I think it is local shaping not international.
my speed test on vox is always max bit if I stream it is generaly at 25% or less of the Telkom throuput to the same server, even on international.

I get 6.4 Mbps on Vox on a 40Mb/s VDSL line testing that anyting past 5pm
On any other account I get at least 23Mbps there. If I test with Speedtest.net of course then it's 39Mbps down and 9Mbps up.

In the day I get 27Mbps with Vox testing on Fast.com.

Imho speedtest.net is being prioritized by our ISP's so that when you test you get max output there, but in reality other sites get throttled or shaped as they oversubscribed bandwidth/users.

Eish doesnt look like they are a good option either... :confused:

How good are their ADSL Fat Pipe 100GB products in terms of connectivity? Cape Town area.

Cape Town has the most issues and the lowest troughput, especialy unusable after 6pm.
I have had to revert to downloading in order to watch TV in the eveniongs despite having Subscriptions to DSTVNow, Showmax and Netflix.
I have an open ticket but still no responce from VOX.
 
I think I'll give VOX a pass then...would be insane to purchase more problems than I already have with my current ISP.

My line is totally useless atm. Can't open or stream anything.

Erm you need glasses? do you see the heavy ping spikes? Every time there is a ping spike like that, I have lag, rubber banding, freezing etc in online games
