Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Wow, That must of been a while ago then...

Well that's hardly the point though.
The question was asked, and I answered with a valid answer.
So as it stands, within the last year I was able to stream twitch @ source on a 10Mb line.

And I'm still waiting to stream source without buffering on my 40mbps line...

HLS and HDS, yes.

Net meter I have not done yet, it was my next step to see what the throughput was like.

Definitely use Net Meter or Windows built in Resource Monitor and check the number of threads and throughput Livestreamer is using.

I just streamed Freakazoid (source) on my connection (http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4758142213) (simulating 40Mbps)

My trace route times out, can't offer past this:

Code:
C:\Users\chris.vanwie>tracert live.twitch.tv

Tracing route to live.twitch.tv [199.9.251.177]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 1 ms 1 ms 2 ms 172.16.72.2
  2 1 ms 2 ms 2 ms 172.16.255.10
  3 4 ms 1 ms 1 ms 196.41.212.29

  5 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms 41.193.32.198
  6 176 ms 207 ms 177 ms 196.41.27.70
  7 180 ms 175 ms 176 ms 196.41.27.114
  8 * * * Request timed out.

There's an occasional hiccup, but nothing massive.

Is there anyone that can assist me after 5?

Wait, you say an occasional hiccup?

720p@60FPS on Freakazoids channel
Drops 1 frame every ~900 frames (which is excellent)
smooth as butter, with a 12 second buffer (has 12 seconds of "future video" already ready to play)

Yeah ... I didn't count it, but the screen would go white, and pixelated and then continue I'll grab a screen cap of it and post in a few.

That's what happens with me, it's not acceptable imo.

It should be a seamless stream.

That's not something you mentioned ever, so the stream plays with no buffering but it has random anomalies?

On Twitch website it buffers, with livestreamer it goes grey and stops for a second before continuing.
That's buffering.

Electric can you do what I did and post a screenshot with the stats window open to compare since you're in a different region than I? Would be interesting to see. (leave it streaming for 15 seconds, then take the screen)

What's wrong with that? Don't you have kids?

Gladly not. If I had to ever consider a stream site for "them", will most likely be the Disney channel or cartoon-network. We can even take this to the good 'ol pre-90s cartoons with boomerang.

Interested to see the speeds you get when you test with net meter or resource monitor.
