My DSL has been killing me for the past few days. Running a 10mbps account, and the past few Speedtests give me 5mpbs.
So I gave Vox a call. After the usual frustration of being told my personal account is somehow under a business account and they need to find someone who can access my account/help me, I get through to someone.
So, it turns out, according the to the rep, that once I hit 200gb, my speed gets cut by 50%, so my 10mbps becomes 5mbps, and when I reach 300gb I get cut to 2mbps.
Not sure when this draconian measure came in, my usage always hovers around the 200gb mark.
Is this the case, these heavy handed measures, or are there other issues?

I assume you are on an uncapped account? The policy was updated on 1 Oct as far as I know, it was discussed in the previous thread.
The FUP page on Vox's website is still '404', maybe ask them to fix that.
In the previous thread Zyzzyva posted a screenshot, showing the first cap for a 10 Mbps account is 150 GB, thereafter you get 5 Mbps.

Well it would sure be nice of Vox to ummmmm, maybe update let people read their FUP instead of instituting draconian throttling and then not letting people read their FUP.
The uncapped haven't had the FUP enforced yet. The FUP was announced and is only going into effect in the next few days.
The document has been live since the first week of October. https://www.voxtelecom.co.za/images/products/pdf/FUP1Oct.pdf

Sorry, we can't find that page!
You asked for https://www.voxtelecom.co.za/images/products/pdf/FUP1Oct.pdf, but despite our computers looking very hard, we could not find it. What happened ?
the link you clicked to arrive here has a typo in it
or somehow we removed that page, or gave it another name
or, quite unlikely for sure, maybe you typed it yourself and there was a little mistake ?
Did that now on Chrome. Still not working. Opens in IE though. I usually only use Chrome, will try and see whata wrong with it.Clear your browser's cache?![]()

Thanks Chris.
That's not necessary thanks. It opened in IE. Maybe something funny with the work firewall. Will check tonight at home.I just tried in Chrome -- no problems. Cool man, if you want, I'll email it to you. Just inbox me your details.

So interesting question.
Does the above also apply to bolt-on? It would seem so at least, because I am most definitely getting half speed now at roughly 260GB used on bolt-on, where it used to be full line speed in the past all the time.
Thought so.Interesting how you know about this. Regardless, Brian has his own details..![]()

CT 10mbps capped post-Telkom-fix:
100%
Line speed
Latencies < 200ms to Europe
:joy: :thankyou:
o_oBolt on is limited to 10Mbps during M-F 6pm-6am, and all day on the weekends. Any slowness past that, is not due to any rate limiting rule on our side.
