Wow!

I never thought I would see this. A Zim official admits the error of their ways.

Zimbabwe's controversial reforms that took land away from white farmers to redistribute it to blacks have contributed to the onetime food exporter's chronic shortages, the head of the Central Bank said.

"For us to import food in a country that has had a land reform programme is a shame," Zimbabwe Reserve Bank governor Gideon Gono was quoted as saying by the state-run Herald newspaper on Wednesday.

.....this is the first time he has singled out the land reforms for the food shortages, which have forced the country to rely on imports to plug the deficit.

ANC take note!

Also from the IHT(International Herald Tribune)

Mugabe was on state visit to longtime ally Namibia, where hundreds of people took to the streets with signs that read "Go Mugabe Go" and "Go Home Dictator."

"President Mugabe is a dictator who is guilty of several human rights abuses and to a certain extent war crimes," said Phil Ya Nangoloh, the executive director of the National Society for Human Rights. "He is an international pariah. He is not welcome in Namibia."

I say we lock Mugarbage for the rest of his miserable life from crimes against humanity!

Mr Gono blamed the country’s “new farmers” for the critical shortage of foreign currency. He said that “some people, including senior politicians” who had been allocated land expropriated from white commercial farmers since 2000, were not “fully utilising it”.

Sounds much like what's happening here , just not as fast. Bloody politicians thinking they can farm....

were not “fully utilising it” - gotta be one of the understatements of the decade. not “fully utilising it” - cracks me up, how did they ever beleive it would succeed? I wonder who will bail them out, perhaps China?

The african way.

The majority rule, demand and take and die of hunger.

Before die there should have been steal and deny it:rolleyes:

Agreed.

Know nothing but takes the money.

The majority, for them nothing changes, the fat cats take everything.

Driving around in mercs, bms and 4x4s with dark windows, but cant park.

Money can buy lots of things but not intelec nor breeding.

You are very wrong. The african way is to acknowledge wrong. However, the way of some pale africans is to deny wrong ("Aparthied was not that bad, atleast things worked for us" or the usual refrain, "It was before I was born").

Africa is too diverse to generalise, lets look at Southern Africa, almost every country that freed itself from the yoke of british oppression forgave them, and formed permanent links, remember the commonwealth?. It is inherent in the african spirit to forgive. It is Ubuntu.

The Zimbwabwe situation was not typical. It was one tyrant imposing his will through lies and deceit on others. Remember that a lot of Zimbwabweans have always been against mugabe.

i have always been against ANC . but its mugabes time now he doesnt have much longer to live

That would be an old gardner trying to please his baas, because he knows that the baas is a.........................:D
Or a disgruntled, jobless, homeless, disillusioned and hungry one.Not believing the promises of a better life after 13 years.
Seeing in the papers and on television the select few with their shiny cars and grand lives.Realizing the promises are not gonna be kept.
Longing for the day when he had at least a job and food and not just empty promises.

Ahh Mugabe, just proof that hes still human, everyone makes mistakes.
