Offline vs Online Gaming

I prefer single player, but I do miss the days of lan games.. playing a game of AOE or quake in the computer labs or at someone's house. Nowadays I try to avoid multiplayer, coz I'm too worried that my connection will drop and I will end up letting my team down because of an unstable connection or lag.
It's frustrating coz I paid for BF4 Premium but I hardly play it because of all the connectivity issues. Recently purchased GTA5 as well, and probably will have the same issues with GTA Online.
Patiently waiting for fibre to reach my area....

You only need half decent ADSL to play online. Check if you don't just have a faulty line.

I have a Uncapped 4mb line. I have called Telkom in numerous times regarding the line issues.. they fix it and it works for a few days/weeks, but then goes back to being crap.

What do they do to fix it? Sometimes it can be as simple as replacing your router or pots filter.

They normally have to reset something at the exchange.. they come in .. check the line quality, then go to the exchange, fiddle around a bit and when they come back, it seems to be fine. Will call them again and ask for a proper explanation.

Orbital pretty much sums it up. When I start playing a game, it must grip me - straight away. Instant gratification. If I have to figure stuff out, run around looking for stuff, blah... Brain goes to sleep. I spend my entire day figuring stuff out. Gaming for me must be about shooting the *** out of whatever - arcade style. Why I like CoD so much.
Forza 5 is another game that has held my interest. Nice and fast.

This is me right here, I want to sometimes get into a game so bad (like right now I'm trying to finish Witcher 2, so I can fire up 3) but not even 30mins in, I'm like wtf, I was trying solve problems the whole day, and now I'm home doing the same thing over again, then I'm like "**** it" and fire up Counter Strike and play a comp game or 2, and a couple of hours fly by like nothing...

Problem is then I start feeling guilty because I never finish any of the games I buy, I've even vowed to stop buying new games until I at least finish like 5 in my back log, just end up buying a steam special a few days later:D

Got sucked into Dungeons and Dragons Online for about 2 years and didn't do much single player gaming. The bugs and low server populations got a bit much and I started single player gaming again.

I also went through s stage of playing Starcraft 2 online but I lack the time and energy to get good at it. Either the matchmaking was broken or I am the worst SC2 player in the world because I kept losing which got real old real fast.
