Offshore savings

Try Std Bak's Shyft. No need to have a Std Bank acc.

You can buy foreign currency and keep it in a holding account.
No interest, but who cares at this stage,
Anything but our Animal currency.

That money can be taken at the stroke of a pen. I think OP wants protection against our thieving overlords.

Can be taken anywhere.
Banks remember?

The only 100% surety you have is under your mattress!

How is the government going to bind foreign banks to SA laws?

Do some reading of some of the huge banking and insurance collapses worldwide buddy, and the implications thereof.

You somehow believe that our institutions are more corrupt or less ethical.
Joke.

Have fun!

The idea isn't to protect against worldwide banking collapse. It is to protect against SA government stupidity and interference.

Then you are left with gold, maybe bitcoin. Or other physical assets like bottled water and pumpkin seeds.

Cash is certainly not a safe place to store wealth, especially with all the printing going on.

This thread is specifically about preventing our government from stealing the funds. With that in mind, an overseas account is safer than a local one.

No it isn't, utlimately.

For all the reasons I've detailed above.
You haven't detailed anything. You have made vague statements about foreign banks collapsing, without providing proof.

Yes, the world is experiencing troubling times, but most nations in the world aren't actively talki g about taking away property rights of their middle-class or minorities. Most developed economies in the world are ticking along, slower, but not dead. This is insurance against local idiocy, not worldwide collapse.

You must eirher be on drugs or simple minded.
P.S Google might be of some assistance.
