In the highly fragmented world that we live in, keeping tabs on all our bits and pieces can be a little tricky. This is why syncing software is so valuable. Unfortunately, like a PC, all our gadgety goodies are made in different parts of the planet where not only do the people talk a different language, but so do the gadgets. This is why I have been so stoked to tick off a painful part of my to-do list with the awesomely simple MobileMe from Apple.
MobileMe provides a full, seamless, cross-platform sync between Macs and PCs, iPhones and iPods keeping everything in sync like all the other software promised to do! Whether it’s emails, contacts and calenders or system preferences, notes, widgets or even internet bookmarks, MobileMe does it all. Add to this a standard 20GB of cloud computing space and you even have your desktop available wherever you go. Or, if you are fortunate enough to have a mac, you can enjoy remote access to your machine – even if you are clueless at IT – with another free feature called Back to My Mac. Then you select how often you want all your gadgets to align themselves and voila, Bob’s your uncle.
I have had headache after headache with even the big guns like Google, but with MobileMe it was literally instantaneous. One click and I was sorted.
Check out the tutorial [http://www.apple.com/mobileme/tutorials/] and you will see that this is only the start of the fun that I have had today.
So long clunky past, hello future!
