So, I usually start work between 10 & 11am. This morning I had a meeting that began at 9am - completely unusual for my schedule and the industry - which I remember at 9:09am when I woke up as normal.

My boss is gonna hang me out to dry :( I'm so sure of it :( on my way into work now and dreading it.
 
If it is the first time, just be a grown up and admit to being late and appologise for it. We are all human, and your boss knows this.

If it isn't your first time... well then you have an issue.
 
Yes, first faux-pas of this ilk. Boss was far too nice. Just smiled and said 'that's quite ok, join us later once you've settled in' (it's a full day board meeting).

that's almost harder to deal with! At least crap on me like a naughty school child :/ Quiet disappointment and acceptance is poo..... Yes, I realise that I might be looking a gift horse in the mouth here a bit....

Your boss knows that he has to be nice with you because he'll be wanting to share a hotel room with you next month.
 
I hope you called ahead to tell him you're late as soon as you woke up?

As for the post, I was sitting fidgetting on the bus. Where better to pass the tense moments than on MyBb? :p

Hehe, reason I ask is because I've found that it's often good to let someone know exactly when something like this happens and be completely honest about it. being honest and taking responsibility for your mistakes is an excellent quality and your boss is likely to remember it.
