Ok guys please help me understand all this

ok can someone please try explain to me why is it that Axxess for example can sell thier uncapped (yes R899+) and people can get thier full package speed with not having to "control thier own pipe" and protocols not being throttled. i mean guys on Axxess with the 384 package are doing 700gigs plus sometimes over 800gigs. I mean how is that even possible. :P now when it comes to screamer and DigiChilli why cant they offer the same quality of bandwidth as axxess but give us these great prices? what is the REAL problem? is it shaping? the fact its cheap? or is it just Seacom line?

they probably put more users onto smaller "pipes" as you call it....

they are small companies forming, that can only buy SO MUCH bandwidth, where as axxess is not.

Most big networks run kinda empty at night, and in this case Axxess is selling Internet Solutions spare nighttime capacity.

The bandwidth is being given to them at vastly cheaper prices because if unused, it essentially just goes to waste.

Just to answer to question in terms of digichilli, they are not saying you have to do any managing, they are just saying that if you saturate your line with one app (e.g. downloading), you might have to stop it if you want to play an online game with low latency. It's always been like that.

ok this is understandable....but how can people if only getting great speeds at night kill almost 800gigs on a 384 line?

The account runs at full line speed from 20:00 to 8:00 and over weekends. So, if you happen to have a 4mbps line, you get around 420KB/s download speed :D

Yes and if you are fortunate enough to have a 8mb line with telkom beta testing you will be able to get 8mb speeds in off peak too. So those account don't don't always have 384k lines connected to them. Its shaped if you have reached the threshold. But I hear that the upload speed is not shaped. So if you only upload the whole month you would be able to do more than 100GB
