1. For the love of the game, why do Horde capture SH ?
It just makes more sense to let the allies run as far as possible to
Drek
2. Why o why can't a few guys defend the Horde char = to Belinda ?
We nuke down Belinda and bam 2 seconds later the score is lvl again
Well on our battlegroup horde loses all the time. I have 100 AV marks and won like 6 times (4 of which was AFTER they buffed Balinda)....scary.
Anyway with all the runs i few things dawned on me:
1. Some people cap SH GY on purpose to force Horde to defend , but mostly i'd say it's just people who haven't been told why NOT to cap it (i'm not even sure that Alliance even know as they even cap it back!!) . Problem is SHGY -is- actually a good GY to have initially if Horde do not get Stormpike quickly. If you run into Frostwolf and see 20+ Horde "defenders" there, then you know why..They skipped SHGY and got stomped at Stormpike...so they all rez back in Frostwolf..and no one ever runs back north as Alliance will be blocking their way out of their own base.... So suddenly the game gets much longer, and Horde never intentionally decided to defend...
Alliance are not very clever either because they never realise if Horde only got 1 GY then everyone is gonna rez there.....so it's often in their best interest to let Stormpike fall (at some stage) to prevent the entire Horde force from rezzing at the boss. Heck we've been in a match where we capped Alliance Aid Station and then the very clever Alliance go and cap ALL the other GYs [stormpike, relief hut etc]...guess what happened? THe entire Horde force rezzed in the middle of Dun Buldar!! ...they then simply killed Vanndar and won before Alliance could figure out where all the Horde went.
1. Horde don't actually win defending Galv unless they use 15+ defenders. 10 is not enough. The idea of defending Galv is primarily to slow Alliance down [not stop them] , but 10 can not slow Alliance as much as the 10 defenders can on the Alliance bridge....
2. Alliance usually keeps 10 guys back in Dun Buldar, these 10 can slow 30-40 Hordes alot more than any 10 Horde defenders can -anywhere-. The combo of DB archers and elite NPCs and proximity of the Aid Station makes it easy for 10 Allies to defend. So it's usually easier for Horde to zerg a full 40 to Dun Buldar asap rather than only have 20-30 and getting blocked on the bridge.
3. and it's the most amusing part. Alliance will always go "but if Horde even defended they'll win"
If Horde DO defend with 15 people then it means they -consciously- decided to play a defensive game. Guess what happens? Go read the US forums regarding the Alliance boycott in AV.
Basically Horde put 15-20 guys on defense at IB GY [nicely in the middle of the map] . This means Alliance [who's ALWAYS rushing] is blocked right there and can't get through. So Horde sit back and just kill 'em till resources run out , they don't go for Dun Buldar at all [only a few rogues to try and ninja ] . In the end Horde simply push Alliance back into their little fortress and wait outside.
End result = a much longer match 40 minutes+ easily and if Alliance go on defense too...even longer.
Horde will win this like 600-60 [because Alliance don't even get a Horde tower] , so guess what is happening? Alliance stops playing AV and queues on the Horde side becomes 3 hours long. How's that for being cry babies? Horde decides to defend -for real- and then Alliance can't handle it....
4. Since they buffed Balinda, i've noticed Alliance making another rather idiotic move [imho] in that they now move 10 defenders to defend Balinda. This essentially means Alliance have no one in Dun Buldar or their little zerg is 10 men short..or both even. Essentially Alliance are slower and Horde becomes faster if they don't zerg Balinda . I've won 4 times since the fix because Horde came near Balinda, saw 10 Allies there and went "screwit, lets hit Dun Buldar quick , we can use 5-10 guys to grab IB and SH bunkers and while they wait for it to burn they can harass balinda and maybe kill her" ....and suddenly the entire Horde force is hitting Stormpike so fast whilst Alliance is still not even at Galv

.
So on my battlegroup i think there's a general consensus among Hordies that they will loose 80% of time if they rush [Alliance do not have as many obstacles if both teams rush] , but they will get their 200-300 honor in 10-15 minutes . So they simply maximise their Honor per Hour. Yes to Alliance it might look like Hordes are idiots, but rushing is beneficial for both in terms of Honor....and i guess Horde is "mature" enough to take the loss above the faster honor
