Cleaning your computer screen
If your display screen is dusty or you need to clean it, use only water or a mild glass cleaner that contains no alcohol or ammonia. Most office supply stores sell cleaning kits specifically designed for this purpose. Be careful not to use any cleaning products that may scratch or mar the display surface, especially if you are cleaning the screens of Apple portable computers and flat-panel monitors.

To clean your display screen:
Turn off the computer or display. You may need to turn off the computer in order to turn off some Apple displays.
Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only, or an appropriate mild glass cleaner.
Wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.

This is also on the apple support pages.

Seems Landy's bad habits are spreading:D

It's as simple as a damp (not wet), soft cloth.

Hey... I remember that song... (better not give my vintage away!);)

Seriously tho, there are some specialist cleaners out there too. The one I remember is iKleer... never used it myself - you may find the price a bit *interesting*.
Otherwise go down to your local optometrist or camera shop and get hold of a the lint free cloths that get used to clean spectacle/camera lenses. They probably also have some cleaners that can be used on camera lenses and computer screens.

Another good thing to do is to wallop the next idiot that comes close to your screen with a greasy finger or BIC pen. And I do mean a good old fashioned *snotklap*. Its amazing how that it only takes one incident like that to keep your screen pristine for years:D
