No, they are slow......used to get over 2Mb/s. Go read the first page in this thread. More than a year of fighting has them back up to under half-speed again.

Afrihost 10Mb ADSL line installed (application done on the 19th December 2012, line up and running today 31st December 2012 at 14:56), goodbye iBurst.
Once again a huge thanks to Mel for trying to get the whole issue sorted out. I really appreciate the hard work you and Simon have put in to at least try get some decent speeds back, but sadly it was too little too late.
13+ year customers are saying goodbye. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

This will be my last post in the iBurst section.
After all the money and time iBurst has thrown at this issue, it still sits like this:

Sorry, but this does not cut it at all. Our 800 bucks a month will now be spent on a 10Mb ADSL line that will actually deliver a decent speed.

Dont worry man, all your frustration and hard work has paid off by helping others like me and a few mates of mine looking for a DECENT uncapped wireless solution. After reading your thread i decided to stay well away from iBurst and recommended my mates to stay away as well. Thanks for the regular updates and enjoy the 10Mb line you lucky person, you.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but, according to the coverage map, what speeds can you expect in your area?

For the ex-iBurst or the ADSL?
iBurst used to be 2+Mb/s before December 2011 and down to less than 0.5Mb/s after that.
ADSL is 10Mb here and as you can see, it is pretty much on par with what is advertised and what I pay for.

For the iBurst. According to the iBurst coverage map, what speeds can you expect in your area?

The coverage maps mean nothing, in my opinion and will only give a rough idea of what areas they cover. I know of people who stay one block and 2 blocks away from a tower with direct line of sight, 2Mb modem, etc and get pretty much the same speeds we used to get recently. So, 2Mb modem, less than 500m away from a tower for both people I know, crap speeds. And that is in the dark red zone according to coverage maps.
We used to get close to and above 2Mb/s, then speeds dropped to almost useless speeds. Nothing iBurst did could give us our previous speeds back and we got the excuse that we are in a medium to low reception area and the slow speeds would be normal.
So if we are supposedly in such an area, how the hell were the speeds 2Mb/s and above? Not a single person at iBurst I spoke to could explain that. Our house did not suddenly move 10 blocks up the road away from the iBurst tower while we weren't looking......
It is over and done with and school fees have been paid. Got 10Mb ADSL now and all iBurst modems and antenna have been removed from the house. Account cancelled, goodbye.

I assume that's roughly 50 to 100kbps on their coverage map. You have the silver surfer modem, so you should have expected speeds of roughly 100 to 200kbps.

Go read from the first page, we used to get over 2Mb/s constantly from the Silver Surfer and close to and above 1Mb with the black modem, so those speeds they mention on the coverage maps are a thumbsuck at best and saying those speeds were to be expected sounds like a reply out of the iBurst book of "How to bull***** customers with technical jargon", sorry.

I have been following your saga from the beginning. I was even one of those MyBroadband members who tried to help, but whenever anyone asked a question, you would avoid answering or provide conflicting information.
More like "conservative estimate". Imagine the uproar and cries of "false advertising" if their coverage map promised unrealistic speeds.
