in november my s/o's mb went dead so i went out and got her a new one. now it being around christmas and the fact that we are both teachers left my funds dry to spend a lot of money on a mb so because my s/o can't live without her computer and we really couldn't afford a great mb i bought her (i know don't yell at me) a 939 nforce 4 albatron (yeah i know better but hey) mb. about 6 months ago while playing games her computer would crash once in while. i checked the temps and they were all fine but i thought well maybe it could be the psu, her psu was 4 years old at that point so i went and got her a 400w psu and the problem still happend. the little old computer was now giving me sweet messages of there being driver problems that was causing the crash. so i took off all the old drivers that i could find and then updated, still same problem persisted.
someone then suggested that i flash the mb so i downloaded what i thought was the proper flash update (word of advice, want a good laugh go to albatron website and just look at the downloads and the dates) and then proceded to flash the mb only to be told at the start of the flash that that certain flash program did not support win xp. so i downloaded the next flash i thought was right and still got the same message and so on, none of the flash updates were xp supportive.
yesterday i decided that i would test the graphics, memory and cpu in my computer and send my stuff over to hers. now we have the same cpu, same memory, and same graphics card 6600 mine msi hers inno. i started off with the graphics cards, i put hers in mine (inno) and mine in hers (msi) i did not change drivers i did nothing. and you know what the computer played games the whole bloody day without crashing and her graphics card did just fine in my computer so please some smart computer guru out there please explain to me how this can be.
