Is anyone else experiencing issues bypassing zones using their Olarm on a DSC alarm panel?
Currently when I try to bypass a zone from the Olarm app, it will bypass the zone, then a few seconds later it will un-bypass(that is a word....I think) that zone.
I contacted Olarm over two weeks ago, but they still haven't been able to resolve the issue.
Side note: Bypassing zones on my keypad works perfectly.

Yes I've noticed that too. Seems to be a bug in the HYYP software but I could be wrong.

Olarm is a flipping irritation of note.

My DSC has become so unstable since i've used it. I complain, i get told its all fine.

I unplug Olarm from my DSC - panel is rock solid.

The latest trick is i'll reboot the whole panel. Everything is fine. I can arm/disarm from my remotes or keypads, ADT gets my alarm signals.

The moment I use the Olarm app, my DSC throws a "Communications" error and refuses to talk to the ADT radio anymore. I have to power down the radio and the panel and restart them.

I've tried asking ADT but they said they cannot honor the panel's warranty/service while the Olarm is connected as it is an unsupported device. I'm beginning to see why...

I think its time to throw this thing out and just pay the R5k for DSC internet module from ADT.

You can build your own internet module for about R100.

Hmm ok I’m intrigued. I think I gave away my last Arduino board. I’ll need to pick one up.

Or maybe go to Elvey or another supplier and buy the DSC internet module directly? The Markup ADT puts on DSC components is truly insane based on my 2012 experience.

They do. But on the flip side when they have installed it and its broken, you phone and they come quickly, and usually don't charge for labor if they did it...

But yeah, in this instance i'm prob gonna do something myself. Its either gonna be one of the DIY kit or an Envisalink from Amazon. Funny enough its like R1900 incl shipping from my forwarder and the Envisalink is over 3k here. Its insane.

My entire home is connected to Home Kit - I think the other option is better, it looks like it supports Home Kit out of the box?

Go to the examples under Home Assistant there is a Homekit example sketch. If you go with Arduino you still need something to communicate.

Ah ok. So, one complication - I already have a Home Assistant machine, but it was installed by the guys who did my solar and they have access to it to talk to the Sunsynk and the geyser controllers. I would prefer my alarm NOT to show up on there since that would effectively give them the ability to arm and disarm lol.

Since i only have 1 Wi-Fi network i could make it work through a VLAN so the 2 Home Assistants are isolated from eachother...

Yep massive security risk you have full access to the alarm via the software.

Can someone confirm someting for me:

This option: https://github.com/taligentx/dscKeybusInterface

1. I assume it would require an arduino board with Ethernet right? So that HomeBridge or HA can actually find it?
2. Can you arm or bypass using it? As in the "problems" section it says its a "read-only" implementation?

Thanks

1) Just go with the ESP8266 board which has Wifi.
2) I don't see that. You can arm, disarm, bypass just like with a keypad depending on which sketch you install.

This. I only use my alarm via HA and telegram now.

Ok i see that, RTFM error ;)

I didn't see the part about adding the transistor..

Got all the parts today, and 3d printing a case for the NodeMCU.

If all goes well i'll install to tonight.

If not, I'll have a new alarm system in a few days :p
