I'm spring cleaning.

I have:

1. USB2.0 Card bus (PCMCIA card giving two USB 2 ports)
2. D-Link Ethernet PCMCIA card (gives ethernet access via PCMCIA slot)
3. Netgear wireless PC Card (PCMCIA card giving wifi access)
4. Old CD drive taken out of a desktop PC
5. CD drive taken out of an IBM Thinkpad "Ultrabase"

Would any of these be of any use to anyone? If not, can I safely dispose of them by just chucking them out or do they need to be disposed of in a special way?

Thanks.

You have to dispose of it in a special way, but people usually throw it in the house bins.

AFAIK Incredible Corruption will take your old PC stuff off your hands to dispose responsibly.

Makro Durban have an e-waste bin for old tech, maybe its a Makro thing and all branches keep the same bins country wide.

I wouldn't mind mind to take 1, also try 2&3 is works. Dropbox is at Knopieslaaghte near Diepsloot. :)

We live In SA... so go to a busy shopping centre, put everything in a box and "forget" the box on your boot... It will be gone when you Get back...
