Hi everyone.
I currently have a 2015/2016 Samsung Smart TV. I can watch Netflix, Showmax and Prime on it adequately. I am however unable to load any new apps or stream on it - because of its age.
Things to note:
1) I do not have a personal computer on which to stream and use HDMI cable onto my TV
2) I dont really want to have to get a new Smart TV just yet
3) I own an apple iphone

Question: What is the best and most cost effective casting device I can plug into my TV I can buy that will enable me to stream series and movies? I understand a ChromeCast can be quite expensive? I've looked at Hi-Fi Corp and its all a bit overwhelming!

Any easy solutions out there?

Thanks :)

Or this. Extremely user friendly and all you will need.

I got the mi stick for a old school samsung 3d smart 2012. Works fine. You can go 4k but those tvs are only 1080p max.

Thank you for the help. Yes I know takealot and amazon sells these sorts of devices but I need specific advice on what to actually buy :)

Ok so a Mi Stick 4K will work just as well as the normal Mi Stick (I see both are sold online)

I have the mi stick and the box, the box is noticeably faster and to side load apps the box is just easier as you have a USB port. https://www.takealot.com/xiaomi-mi-...google-certified-dstv-now-netfli/PLID53397084

You will probably want to Download apktime and one of the apps from the platform cinema, beetv, teatv etc to complete your streaming experience.

if none of the things I mentioned interest you the stick does a great job.
The new stick will be faster with a newer SOC.

Thanks everyone for your help - I'm going to take the advice to get a Xiaomi 4K stick. I think I have run into a further problem though. My TV is mounted on the wall and the stick is 8cm in length - not enough space. I have read somewhere for this situation I can get a "converter" - any advice on what this is?
I also see you can get a Xiaomi 4K box - would this be a better thing to get in my situation?

Thanks :)

There's an HDMI extender in the box...

No thanks that stick doesn't support Dolby vision.

It's R300.00 cheaper and runs Google TV - so I guess you need to work out which you prefer .

What OLED display are you running and why don't you use the internal apps ?

Also seems to slow the device down judging by the reviews.

Don't have an OLED yet. Google cast is great and the stick let me continue where I left off last time on all apps. Not sure if they new TV's can do that.

Anyway might get the Real Me for another TV. Do you know how they are with updates?
