So as most of you might have seen from my various threads i forked out and bought all my pc components but now pcmall.co.za are telling me:

Part of you order Raidmax Smilodon Gaming Chasis – Black is on back order; we have an ETA of three weeks.

WTF do I do, I cant sit with components for 3 weeks doing nothing, will they give me a refund for the case and is there anyone I can source the case from locally? - CPT.

I'm really annoyed first time buying pc parts on line and a 3 week waiting period, now I know why I use the shops.

Dissapointed with pcmall.co.za

Get a R200 box for the interim? I saw the prophecy shop also got a stock shortage of the box, but at least they put it up on the site [ETA 31 Jan] . I'm sure someone must still have it, i bought mine in December and stock didn't seem a prob then.

Otherwise different case?

Anyhow it's rather idiotic how online shops -who do not keep stock themselves- do not follow basic principles:

a] Accept the order, do not accept money
b] VERIFY AVAILABILITY
c] Inform the customer
d] THEN TAKE PAYMENT

I mean come on, if you're building a pc and have 10 parts and "oops the CPU won't be here till march" ..wtf ...is the company stupid or what?

That's why i always end up paying with a Bank Transfer instead of Credit Card, because it results in a requirement of the company to "process" my order BEFORE i pay (as in actually look at it and send me an email with details) . It gives me opportunity to ask them "Give me an ETA of this order and i'll pay" .

With a cc, it's instant..the company don't even know what you did until they actually start talking to suppliers [which is too late].

Ok looked on raidmax.co.za seems they have a supplier in my area - in claremont which is where I am so thats good, now next question Sahara/rectron are out of ddr2 800 ram , I was going to get 4gb of the normal ram they stock but would 2gb of this OCZ ram be better?

OCZ System Elite DDRII 800 - http://www.matrixwarehouse.co.za/html/pricelist.htm - under the ocz ram section :P - any input on that?

Ok SOOOO... I phoned matrix computers - who according to raidmax.co.za are a stockist of theirs, no stock... in claremont, no stock in bellville branch - end of jan same as etailers :( Man im so freaking annoyed now I went and splashed out 6grand for them to tell me sorry no stock, why not tell me that when I placed the order.

Goddammit im annoyed...

Put through order on Tuesday, did pay via EFT - took them till SAT to notify me no stock... WTF MUST I DO NOW - they have my cash I've spent 6k and I have no pc...

Cancel the order? Tell them you can't use the parts without the box and you're not willing to wait that long? It's the only way companies learn.

I mean if you ordered a new BMW and the guy tells you you'll get it tomorrow but the engine only arrives in 6 months....is that acceptable?

Agreed, pcmall shud hav told u before u paid about stock availablity...
 
Kills me when that happens. Now you have to compromise with some last minute choice. These SA shops aren't so nice.
 
So Derek from Cafe Java is willing to try source the case for me even though they don't natively stock raidmax - will call monday to confirm if he can or can't... then If he can I will cancel with pcmall.co.za due to the huge delay...

Is PCMALL's price includes or excludes VAT? Can you order online and pay cash when you go pickup?

So I just stick it on a plank and bobs your uncle? or do I need to put plank - anti static plastic - mboard (or am i just being daft).

Want to setup my qq6600 soon...
