3d gaming is old ****- for those kids who wouldn't know, all you had to do was download the stereo driver and put on a red and green glasses, otherwise there was the split method and lastly good olde shutter glasses. Its definitely nothing new or zomgz the next level, NV is just rehashing the shutter method...

This is newer than that, the glasses are active, the tech is all new.

Still don't like it though.

NVIDIA IS BANGING the 3D drum with their new glasses called GeForce 3D Vision, but they are entirely missing the point. In typical fashion they are going about it not only the wrong way, but trying to counter the direction of the entire consumer electronics industry.

The technology they are using is active shutter glasses, something that went out of style when sane companies realised the costs involved.

My bad.

I thought active glasses were new tech, with previous models using passive films to achieve the 3d effect.

But come to think of it, Power VR...

LOL - if you watch the video, you can clearly see it's an old gimmick they are trying to pass off as new tech - the "Coming out of your Screen" Effect is not possible on an lcd, sorry.

Erm no.
1. Quoting Inq about anythign to do with NVIDIA is like asking for an authentic biography of anybody form "Heat/People" magazine.
2. The Stereo 3D technology used right now is not the same as it was all those yeas ago with the NV3/NV5. This time around you need a supporting LCD with a specific refresh rate as well (120hz I believe). Zalman has such a unit and so does Samsung to name a few.

Where exactly is the reign of power here?
NVIDIA has the fastest VGA money can buy and fastest graphics solution money can buy at a cheaper price than ATI's solution ever had.
ATi has no answer for Phyx. ATi has GPGPU through their fire stream technology, but nowhere near as pervasive as CUDA. ATi Video encoding is both limited and of a much poorer quality than what NVIDIA offers.

we all love what ATI have done with the 4XXX, but lets bring it back to the facts ;)

if nVidia was faster AND cheaper, why are a lot of people choosing ATI and how is ATI still in business?:rolleyes:

He's talking about the fastest card available I think. i.e 295 vs 4870X2? This isn't a very important part of the market but shows off the technology anyway.
