On Digital Media Top TV channels explained

Some channels of interest there.

If you could purchase them individually it may be something to keep me entertained - maybe.
 
Will have to wait to see the program schedule but so far nothing that interest me.
 
Kerrang!! MTV2 would be better but at least there is something.
 
10 channels of your choice for R99, would be a good deal. Excluding the SABC & eTV which by default are deal inclusive.

does the Top Sport Channel include Premier League? i think its watched by quite a lot of people.
 
What worries me about this company is that in first 5 channels they list, 4 of them are Gospel..

I don't want religious BS to be the thing that they push... They can be a "Christian" company for all that I care.. but they must remove the religious channels into their own "bouquet"

You get to pick whether or not you want the religious channels don't you? Nobody is forcing them on you.
 
REligious channels are like porn to me. i dont watch them, they always want to influence me to be like them, thats the same as porn. lol
 
ODM Promises (from previous thread)

Despite promises to the contrary, ODM do not allow the customer to choose the channels they want. They may be a little more flexible than Multichoice, but we seem to be substituting the concept of Bolt-On Package for Bouquet. 80% of the Basic Package is of no interest to me at all and I would not want 100% of the Kids and Music Bolt-On Package if you gave it to me for nothing. The Family and Knowledge Bolt-On Package and the Premium Package do offer some worthwhile channels, but how do we access these without paying for all the unwanted channels first?
One other observation. The ODM offering really does look like they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to put together a sellable product. Multichoice seem to have signed up all the worthwhile channels in an attempt to stymie the competition. This does not bode well for the other entrants attempting to come to market in the coming months.

Showtime and Fox is the only real nice channel.

It seems as if to get anything useful you have to end up buying the premium! They've put together some content I really want with some things I would never touch but have to go with anyway.

Ah I see what people are having a problem with now. That is not so great. This is only worthwhile for me if that Top Sport would show super14, Tri-nations, 6 nations etc. I want my rugby! An additional problem is to get that you have to go for "Premium" which we all know is a codeword for "expensive".

For R249.00 I'm in, I've had with DSTV compact. It's about time. I hope that ODM will subsidise their decoders.

Does anyone know what happened to Super5Media, weren't they supposed to launch in February?
 
What initially appeared great does now not appear to be so.

I got no problem with the Christian channels, But why is there 5.
I also dislike the number of news channels. Why is there 6.

As people got together and convinced Multichoice to not air porn. We should rally / petition on some of these channels. Really let it be "the market has spoken".
I recently came across a saying "for evil to endure it takes good men to do nothing" I would like to rephrase it to, "Bad companys profit, or operate happily, because the market does nothing".

Lets us act, for these channels are not inline with that the market needs or wants.

Fox news should be under religious entertainment :-)

kerrang, current, discovery channel, fox (even though they cancelled dolhouse and TSCC, bastards).

sounds good! now just stream it to me via the new 12mb lines we are getting from Telkom. no decoder, no dish, no problem!
 
What worries me the most is the amount of Free-2-Air Channels that they are talking about.
Soem of the Free-2-Air channels you can pick up on the Public channel on DSTV.
If you look at http://www.lyngsat.com/ you will find a list of channels that are broadcast for free.
All the Gospel channels are already available and so is France 24 News, Press TV etc.
What bother me the most is the fact that we already pay for SABC, so now we have to pay for it again.
As for E-TV which is free, Will we see all the other E-TV channels also?
