I'm feeling soo frustrated with Telkom this morning (well then what's new).

After a 2 month uphill battle getting my ADSL line moved to new house I now sit with no phone bill. This is more a rant about their incompetence thatn anything else. It would appear that although in the end they managed to get their stuff together to move my ADSL line, they somehow managed not to change my address!

After not receiving my bill in the post as per usual, I go around the old house to collect any post that might still be going there, just to find the new occupants to be away on leave. So I can't get my post, and therefore no Telkom bill. I know I can get an outstanding balance over the fone, but I want to see the actual bill for installation before I pay it.

Maybe I'm wrong here (although I doubt it) but one would think that after having a customer moaning and bothering you constantly to get the line moved, then do the move, that the postal address would automatically be changed. Then again we are talking about Telkom, where the term "Acceptable business practice" has no meaning...

Try registering on telkom's site for online billing. Although i don't think it will help for past bills - only bills issued after date of registration. At least that seems to work about 80% of the time:p

You can also call 10210 or 10219 (no sure which one) and get you balance over the phone. All you need is the phone number and ID number (ID no. that was used toapply for the line)

*ps, theres a way to get the balance without the ID number, just pm me for more info.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah there are ways and means to get the balance, but I feel that it is besides the point. Surely their people should be able to aply some form of logic and realise that if the line is being moved, surely the addy will move as well... Apparently not, it infuriates me that a company toting themselves to be "touching tommorow" can't even get the simple things right.

Touching Tomorrow

Apologies -with the Touching Tomorrow campaign, we are so short-staffed that Touching Today is very difficult, and as for Touching Yesterday when you reported your problem, we hope you understand that we are not able to respond within in as many weeks as we would like.

Please be understanding on this matter, we don't want to have our call-centre agents upset just because your problem is not being attended to this quarter.

Have a good year!
