How old is your Life?
A while back some of my channels started flickering. I discovered one of the cables had come loose. Fixed it and noticed that channel 202 doesn't work. I can access the channel, the banner shows, but the screen remains black.

  • I have reset many times.
  • I have rebooted many times.
  • Re-entered the set-up (for shared dish) and checked it

Any ideas?

Have you done the reset called Option 1? Which decoder? Could be problem on the system.

HD PVR 2P

I reset where you press the reset button on the face of the decoder.

Do the "Option 1" reset, on the link you posted. This is a full reset. After it has scanned, you will have to enter frequencies again and scan once more. Should solve your problem...

Did option 1 and 2

Still no channel 202.

Possible issue on distribution system then. Frequency 11410MHz, which does not carry many important channels, besides SSHD2. CNBCA is also on there... Check with neighbours that have HD decoders, if they have problems with same.

I spoke to Century City Connect and they assured me everything is working.

I see 410 is not working either.

Oh FFS!!!!

I contacted my installer. He tells me that he informed Century City Connect of a problem with the HD PVR 2P after the updates Multichoice ran (email was attached from Multichoice which states that the decoders should be taken in). These bloody idiots told me everything is fine!!!

Strange. I have not heard of these problems. Our systems are running fine.

Update.

Took the decoder into Multichoice as advised by installer. They took it into the "back" because it was taking to long to reboot. They brought it back to me 5 min later, "upgraded" and showed me that the channels work. Brought it home, added all the settings, rescanned. Still the same channels missing. Unscrewed all the cables swapped some around. Factory reset, entered all the settings again...rescan. Same problem persists.

Phoned installer...told him...he said "Ja, it would work at Multichoice."

Me:

He will be sending his crew around later this afternoon. Here goes nothing.
