Since there are only bad things going around about telkom these days i thought i might share my positive experience....
2 weeks ago i applied for ADSL using the 10219 number, i spoke to a very friendly person who processed all my details and made my application experience a very pleasent and helpful one, the person said they would phone me the next week to finalise an installation date, naturally i was skeptical about whether he would actually phone me or not but i decided to wait till the next week....
Next week came i and waited until about 1pm on the day he was supposed to phone and getting a bit worried i jumped to conclusions, about an hour later i recieved the call and was pretty knocked back by the fact that i actually got it, we discussed an installation date and it was set for 2 days later. I opted for the self install option and i was told that was fine, I asked all the questions about the 1st november and such and such and i recieved very honest and understandable answers.
The date for installation (techies goes to exchange and organises ports and stuff) came and as a usual telkom customer i didnt expect it to happen, but alas at about 11am i got a call saying it was all in order and i could connect my modem and add filters and all should be well, i say thank you (at this point i am flabergasted because it has only taken a week and a bit to get everything sorted and allocated when i heard it takes up to a month!) so i go home, connect my modem, activate the line and everything is sorted, if that isnt enough i get a call the next day to ask if everything went okay!!! WOW!
I am very impressed with the way the whole installation was handled and i want to congratulate Telkom on a job well done......they got one step closer to making me a telkom supporter....now only if they were as good with their capping.....hmmmm
Anyway, i hope this is sort of a turn around for telkom, may alot of you have the same great experience.....
