So how about all the ISPs who are interested in getting out the word on their new prices do so in one generic thread so we all dont have to hunt around for it?

A couple months ago many of the ISPs were all into their price wars so I'm hoping to see the same conviction now. Lets face it - who ever offers the best price is going to win big time - AFAIK there isnt another radical pricing structure change in the conceivable future.

Go for it - hit me with your best shot - give me a reason for me to want to give you my money.

Yes come on ISP's -- I am in the market to find an ISP sometime today so give me the info to make my decision.

Yeah, i hope some of the ISPs post soemthing. I've emailed a supposedly very customer-centric one about joining them, but havent got a reply. :(

The SAIX ISPs don't even know their OWN pricing until 1st Nov :)
Well, they do, but they are refusing to believe it.

Here's ours - Imagine Internet (special until 31st December):

1: "2GB ADSL @ R145 (ex VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "3GB ADSL @ R175 (ex VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "5GB ADSL @ R315 (ex VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "10GB ADSL @ R670 (ex VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"

Drop a mail to [email protected] if you want more info or check out www.imagine.co.za

Would it not be better if each major (advertising) ISP gets it's own thread which we can be stickied for a while? Or one thread which only consists of pricing posts from the ISP's. Discussion about the pricing can be in the general section. I can see it getting a bit out of control if there is one thread with pricing and discussions/questions.

Thanks for the pricing matt. Is it not possible to list pricing inclusive of VAT? It will make many people's lives a lot easier. Plus certain people will not notice the "ex VAT" and therefore the pricing looks cheaper than it really is.

Sure, no prob:

1: "2GB ADSL @ R165.30 (incl VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "3GB ADSL @ R199.50 (incl VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "5GB ADSL @ R359.10 (incl VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"
2: "10GB ADSL @ R763.80 (incl VAT per month) with up to 30GB local bandwidth"

does the recurring price discrepancy between the 5gb and 10gb account make any sense to you folks at imagine?

enx - actually, no, it doesn't make sense, and It's something we've taken up with our upstream provider (IS). I am meeting with them later, and am confident that we will be able to lower the 10gb and 5gb pricing shortly (by this afternoon if all goes well).

I did the math - is this for real? The price per gb is cheapest for the 3gb package?

1: r82.65 per gb
2: r66.5 per gb
3: r71.82 per gb
4: r76.38

in fact all your prices pretty much get worse the bigger the account?

come on, the competition will eat you alive!

yeah, sorry, never read your post - cool - that makes sense - damn people here post quickly?

The 2gb won't change, but the 5 and 10 will come down. We'll also be implementing a 7gb middle range by Monday. Will post new pricing this afternoon

yeah lower the 10gig to the price of 3gig and I'm signing up!

:)

sorry... I know you're really just trying to give the best option possible.

Hehe. Sigh, I would if I could, BELIEVE me. We are going to look at other capping options utilising VPN systems in the near future as well. We will offer you guys the best possible products within the limiting confines of our ridiculous local internet market.

At least we can offer the 30gb local access after 1st Nov

Will there be a significant increase in your tarrifs after the 31 Dec special ?

If you mean like a 1st Nov fallout, no :). These products are stable, and here to stay...

The pricing will increase, but not too much. For clients signing before 31st December, we will maintain their pricing for 12 months from date of signing

so does that mean we have to sign a 12month contract then? :(

OH! so the 30GB local bandwidth will only be available with an Internet Solutions ISP ?

Damn, IS is whack. I will not go for it.
